n fredrik is causing major backups in baltimore's post office. we have tonight big story. >> the location closed last month. the mail is being processed here at the main post office. that is causing some significant delays. it is the usual holiday hustle and bustle downtown. postal worker rich shelley describes this as chaotic. >> we have had an influx of mail over capacity. there is trucks backed up blocking streets. >> the processing and distribution center closed november 19. all the fredrik mail has been transported to baltimore for processing and transported back to frederick for delivery.

>> the mail delays to the point where there loads of mail sitting in the yard and has been here for eight or 10 days. some male -- never got to where it was supposed to go. >> if there were issues with our customers, we worked with them. >> officials and that the transition has been challenging. they deny claims of widespread delays. >> we're making this transition and we're going through this transition is a busy holiday season. it is the mailing season. we have additional mailed to process but we're processing that and providing with expert service. >> this is one of the center's

that are closed. >> this is one facility that causes this chaos. >> officials say even with the transition, officials say the baltimore processing center scores above the national average and ranks 12th in the nation for delivery time. there's a rally planned to protest closures. >> it was all hands on deck at the fedex facility in roseville, marking their busiest shipping date. more than 17,000 packages will come through the center alone today. officials say they will prepare for it the day before thanksgiving. >> it is very busy. we do it in a safe, timely, organized fashion.

you would not be able to tell that we're so busy. >> you have until december 23 to send out your holiday packages to arrive in time for christmas. the former goodwill employee charged with bribing area stores at gunpoint will remain in jail. the judge denied bail earlier today. the judge said he is a serious threat after learning he was on parole for a robbery. he does -- denied knowledge of the robbery. >> this is one of two men who approached the victim and a gas station. we're told he tried to rob the victim and stabbed him. if you know this person you are urged to contact police.

a man in custody after police say he robbed a bank on the campus. the rate caused a major concern among students and staff while authorities track down the suspect. >> some frightening moments for students at johnson university monday morning after a man robs the pnc bank. county police to have taken over the investigation say at 10:32 a.m. that suspect verbally demanded money from the teller. he never displayed a weapon. no one was injured. the suspect was found on a bench inside the liberal arts building. there was a brief chase. >> we were getting nervous and paranoid about it. at the time when we got out of class, i was in the liberal arts building. >> scott sanders was in his

difficult to get this under control. no one was hurt. >> a bridge inspectors were called in to assess the damage after a vehicle hit an overpass on the beltway. the vehicle was carrying construction equipment when it hit the i-95 bridge over the outer loop of 6-95. it happened at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon and causing delays during rush hour. the crash knocked off a highway sign and caused damage to a beam and a catwalk. seen tonight.the sea police followed the vehicle. investigators say one person was taken into custody. no word on what led to that chase. a local lawmaker says the state is too aggressive with its speed

why cameras are deployed on 695 where a new overpasses being billed. >> there has not been any one there for months. >> the state has collected $4 million in fines since 2009. it is time to move on because the work on the beltway is done. frustrated drivers agree. >> it is not fair to pick it up. when they're not doing the work. >> the state highway administration defended its policy of saying works ounce present a hazard as conditions for drivers and workers. the purpose of the safe zone program is to not only safeguard workers but protect drivers and passengers traveling through the workers found. active work sounds -- this leaves little margin for error. officials pledged to pull the cameras when the project is finished.

expected to testify about he sexually abused as children. we have this preview. quex on the eve of his first hearing, we're getting a better idea of the strategy for gerry sandusky. >> all these young men are following a similar pattern. >> the attorney suggests the victims may be working together toward a high dollar civil suit. >> especially when you are being told by people in some cases involving one of the accuser's that that is all the accused and his family are talking about. what they will do with the money they will get. >> the lawyer for one of the accuser's dismissed the theory is. >> the idea that they are coming forward with a financial incentive is ridiculous. >> several of the victims are expected to testify but there are questions about whether one key witness will speak and if so, what he might say.

the stormy, wet, wintry weather is in southern california. a big storm coming in off the pacific. the mountains here. 10 inches to 20 inches of snow. storm warnings are in effect. the mountains of arizona, new mexico, and southwestern colorado. that will produce wet in chilly weather and some snow may get into denver. east of there, while conditions expected. rain as far north as chicago. it looks like that rain will get here by thursday. highs 49 to 54. about the same wind speeds. the water temperatures cooling to the 40's. lots of sun in the mountains. milder with a chance of a shot of rain. rain is more likely in the mountains wednesday into thursday. we're looking at a good deal of sun for tuesday and wednesday.
