had at some types of pepper spray and incident at this location. baltimore county police are on the scene, and the fire department responded. when they got here, at least 13 kids had been overcome by pepper spray. they have requested a medical task force. we have six medical units to treat the kids that were overcome by the pepper spray. they may be transporting as many as eight to 10 children to nearby hospitals. the entire school has been evacuated. an investigation is ongoing. as soon as we get more information, we will update you. >> we appreciate that. now to our other big story, occupy baltimore evicted. occupy protesters were forced from mckeldin square, and as kim dacey reports, they went without a fight. >> 3: 15 tuesday morning,

baltimore police made their move. they blocked off roads around at mckeldin square where occupy protesters have camped out for several months. >> it is not about private property. this is public to us as people, citizens of the world. >> a line of police officers filed in and surrounded the camp. they escorted protesters out. >> we were fighting for our rights, but i guess the government doesn't like it. >> it is not what i expect from a democracy, it is not what i expect from america, which was built on the right to peaceably assemble and a voice dissenting opinions. that makes us stronger. >> other protesters say they new if they would be forced to leave it mckeldin square at some point. >> we are all kind of waiting to see what the mayor would do about this and what the police -- how the police would actually react. >> unlike and some other cities,

will find a link on the home page. it was a quick trip to court this month for a former penn state coach, jerry sandusky. he was scheduled to face his accusers and a preliminary hearing. his attorney at a different plan. >> jerry sandusky arrived at court, ready to face the media and also his alleged accusers, who were set to give emotional and damaging testimony. just as the judge called a court into session, sandusky and his attorney made a surprise move, waving his right to a preliminary hearing. >> based on our readiness, the strength of the case, i am not that surprised. >> after court was over, defense attorney said that they thought sandusky would not have the chance to define himself and they would gain nothing new from the testimony. >> we would not been able -- we would not have been able to present any witnesses, we would not have been able to present a defense. >> 8 of the 10 alleged victims

were expected to testify, along with other witnesses. the men were expected to provide detailed accounts of the sexual abuse allegations against sandusky that date back more than a decade. >> the waiver means that the victims in this case, although they were ready to testify today, will not have to testify and will not be cross-examined at this time. >> sandusky is charged with 50 counts of sexual abuse and accused of abusing the charity he founded, second mile, to make contact with alleged victims. as he left court today, the former assistant football coach says he plans to prove his innocence no matter how long it takes. >> to put together the best possible defense that we can do, to stay the course, to fight for four quarters. we await the opportunity to present our side. >> sandusky's raymond is scheduled for january 11 --

sandusky's are arraignment is scheduled for january 11. >> it was another chilly start today, with many temperatures in the 20's. at least we are heading into the upper 40's. current temperature at b.w.i., 49 degrees. a couple of high clouds, but the winds have picked up. nw, 8 miles per hour. it is going to feel a little bit cooler than it actually is. we are expecting to drop into the 40's in the evening hours, with increasing clouds. those clouds increasing ahead of our chance for rain. we will find that out in the sunny forecast. >> a harford county family is picking up the pieces after a massive fire at their joppa home. the fire literally burned the home to the ground. it happened at the 2400 block of bluefield circle. it also destroyed 13 vehicles, including antique cars, race cars, and an rv. no one was hurt by three family

pets are missing. a local lawmaker says the state is being too aggressive with speed camera citations. state officials approved a law for speed cameras two years ago after construction workers were hit and killed. but now a senator jim brochin says that maryland is stretching the rules to to get drivers even when workers are not on site. >> when there are workers there, let's have it speed cameras there. >> they are not actually doing the work. >> the intent is to make money off of the motorists. >> the state highway administration defends its policy. "work zones present inherently hazardous conditions for drivers and workers. the purpose of the program is to not only safeguard workers, but to protect drivers and passengers traveling through the work zone. there is little margin for error, both when workers are present and not."

>> four soldiers are dead after a helicopter crash in washington state. it is still unclear whether the two helicopters crashed separately or collided. base officials are investigating the accident. on capitol hill today, house republicans are expected to approve a bill that would continue a payroll tax cut for 160 million workers. the legislation has drawn objections. it would extend the payroll tax holiday and long-term unemployment benefits before they at bybee end of the year. republicans say that $180 billion measure would help people get back to work.

throughout the day tomorrow. even by tomorrow morning there is a chance the western part of the state will see rainshowers. for baltimore, a better chance into the evening hours. theeven that is pretty minimal. this clears out, but then the front, and a better chance for the rain as we get into thursday afternoon. even that is about 40% chance. we are not going to see too much moisture out of this next store. you will see increasing clouds tomorrow as the storm system approaches. western mountains macy rained earlier on with baltimore having a better chance into the evening hours. overall, the entire rain chance is minimal. thursday, the front passes by. ahead of it, temperatures warm to 55. 44 by saturday. the new piece of that storm may bring some rain south of us. it is just going to be another chilly weekend ahead.
