robbery on a light rail. a sleeping passenger wakes up to an armed man demanding his wallet. mta police need your help to track down the suspects who are considered to be armed and dangerous. >> mta officials say they were able to identify those suspects with the help all witnesses. even though they think this is an isolated case, folks think that they are reconsidering their safety. terry thompson are considered to be armed and dangerous. they are identified as suspects in an attempted armed robbery on a light rail train. the incident happened earlier this month around 7:00 p.m. on a light rail train at the cherry hill stopped in north baltimore. a spokesperson says that one of the suspect demanded the passengers wallet.

but when he refused to hand it over, the suspect used a knife to cut the suspect's arrest. >> that is crazy, on the train? that way is bold. >> a witness identified the suspects and think it could be an isolated incident. violent crime is down 10% on empty vehicles. but most passengers say they worry for their safety. >> it could happen to me. >> they could get on the train and ask for a ticket. but you have for them or five of them at one time wanting to see tickets and no one is sitting here to make sure that the passengers get on and off safely. >> as the investigation continues, mta police want you to take a good look at this man and woman to help track them down. if you have any information on their whereabouts or on this case, call in tpa -- anti police.

searching for a motive. so far -- detectives are still searching for a motive. so far, they do not have a name. 831-year-old man was shot and killed. the victim was standing on his porch on the 2800 block of west garrison ave. he was approached by two people in masks. >> they requested money. they struggled with him and the victim was shot. under partially, he did not recover from his once and -- unfortunately, he did not wounds. from his onc the victim was well known to police. officers interviewed people in the house at the time of the murder. one neighbor said she was asleep when something startled her. when she looked at out her window, she saw paramedics and police vehicles.

police say this is a relatively quiet neighborhood. on thursday, very few signs remained that anything happened here. this was the 196 homicide of the year in baltimore. detectives are trying to find two murder suspects. >> we are hopeful that, while we have spoken with some individuals in the area concerning this incident, there are more witnesses and they will come in. >> other than wearing masks, police have released few details about the suspect. they are very confident that more potential witnesses will come forward. >> new details tonight on that terrible crash that claimed the life of a 5-year-old boy. the driver of an suv rear ended and acura northbound i-80 around 2:45 p.m. yesterday.

that crash caused a chain reaction involving two other vehicles. all occupants of the actor was taken to the hospital where a 5- year-old died of his injuries. his parents and sister remain in the hospital. no charges have been filed. this accident remains under investigation. a 17-year-old girl remains in critical condition after an explosion in rosedale. they started a fire on a barbecue pit when one of the teenagers poured gasoline on it. some of them more sent to the hospital with injuries from the waist up. >> what i would recommend is that, if you have a hard time starting a fire, get one of the fire logs that they have for fireplaces or just use of some paper. never use flammable liquids. never use gasoline.

never use diesel fuel. >> in the meantime, police are trying to figure out what started a fire at a grocery store in north baltimore. we are told that the second- story building was engulfed in flames when crews arrived. firefighters had trouble pinpointing the exact location of the fire. they were eventually able to bring under control. here is a view from the ground. fortunately, everybody inside was able to get out safely. problems for travelers and commuters -- a gas line ruptured around 12:45 p.m. this afternoon as an amtrak contractor working at the station on the 1500 block of north charles street. amtrak says the incident caused a few delays for rail service because trains were reduced to a single track.

this afternoon. we know it has been very disappointing. this was the perfect kind of snow. it did not bother anybody. you could drive around. it was nice to look at. in the extended forecast, we will get thmore. our little showers were triggered by the clipper that came by the great lakes. i know it is not very warm outside right now, but in the upper levels of the atmosphere, it is warming and little bit. we are making a transition in air mass. it is trying to create some precipitation. but this is not really reaching the ground. you may get a sprinkle or a flurry in some areas. but it is not hitting the ground. we will actually get some clearing overnight. when you wake up tomorrow morning, you will probably see some sunshine. the clouds will be decreasing as

we head through the night. the temperatures will not drop off to much further. even though we will clear the skies, that usually means that the temperatures will drop quickly, but that will not happen tonight. iwe will probably settle back into the upper-20's in the northern suburbs and mid-to- upper 30's in the city. during the day tomorrow, another clipper storm will be coming at us in the same direction. because we will have the warmer air in place, the temperatures will be too warm to produce any snow. we may get some late rainshowers in the afternoon. in the backside, friday night to early saturday morning, another shot of cool air will come in. early saturday morning, there may be a chance of rain or snow shower. but to new year's eve will be just fine.

a slight chance for some rain showers tomorrow, most likely in the afternoon. high temperatures between 47 degrees and 52 degrees, warmer than today. you will probably see some sunshine early in the morning. as you head into the new year, a big change is coming temperaturewise. sunday night into monday morning, this will dip into the northern part of florida. this will let the arctic air from canada go to the coast. our temperatures will drop well below average for the first time in a long time. in the short term, we will be in the upper-40's friday, saturday, and new year's day sunday. there may be some light rain or snow early on saturday. new year's eve will be dry. it will be chilly, but not cold for this time of year. and then the arctic front will go through sunday night. look what it does to the characters. highs will be in the 20 boss -- 20's by tuesday.
