submerged in icy, snowy creek. it was said he went to hide after an earlier shooting in seattle where two people were left critically injured. authorities arrest a man in connection with dozens of suspected arson fires in los angeles. police say he was spotted in a van that matched descriptions of witnesses. 53 suspicious fires started mostly in parked cars in and around the hollywood area. the fires caused $2 million in property damage but nobody was hurt. >> hundreds of protesters held a follow-up to the rose bowl parade. they chanted and marched the same routes as the rose parade

many of these shelters are opened at 24 hours during the code blue alert. officials are asking residents to take advantage of them. plenty of people were bundled up in their hats and gloves on monday night. " we felt so far is just a preview. winter is about to make its presence known. >> we see people who are not prepared with the cold. we might see some cold exposure. >> as the temperature drops, doctors are preparing for more patients with cold weather related issues. a code blue has been declared. emergency workers will check in on all vulnerable residents and emergency shelters have extended workers. this is one of 10 baltimore city

tapped his brakes to avoid a minivan and went into an embankment where the car landed upside down. one person came upon the accident moments later. >> we saw some ladies coming forward. they said something about kids. i ran into the river and tried to help them. >> three children were trapped inside. they were under water and time was running out. >> the windows were rolled up. i shot out the window. i reached up inside. >> but then more help arrived. >> there were about six or eight other people. we pushed the vehicle back up on the side. >> he saw something encouraging.
