>> usually it is city hall that cracks down on those who owe money. this time it is city government that the repo man are going to visit. jennifer franciotti explains why. >> for the city housing authority, it means they're about to lose a lot of property in order to pay for judgments awarded to two people who claim they were victims of lead poisoning when they were children. on the list to be taken, 21 vehicles including trucks and cars, even a bobcat, all owned by baltimore's housing authority. they are all about to be tagged by the city's sheriff's department. evan goldman is a lawyer retained to collect from the housing authority more than $2 million. that money was awarded in judgments because two people claimed they were poisoned when they lived in the authority's public housing as children. the housing commissioner and the mayor insist that the city cannot afford to pay the judgments without affecting services to the city's public housing residents. but like any other debtor who

refuses to pay their bills, their property can be taken. >> once we get the list, we're going to deal with an auctioneer and auction the vehicles off. it's going to be a public auction, advertised in the paper. anyone can go there and bid on a non-federal vehicle, and all the funds are going to be used to pay the judgment. >> property will remain with the housing authority. this case has gone to federal and state court. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> police have arrested a man they say impersonated a police officer and raped a woman. the man arranged a meeting with a woman at her hotel room under the guise of being a police officer.

johnson was arrested on saturday on charges of rape and impersonating a police officer. >> 27-year-old faces first- degree assault charges in connection with a fight. two people got into a fight when one said one person began throwing bleach on her. nearly two dozen people were sent to the hospital. jefferson faces assault charges in the case. two people are now in custody in connection with a robbery and a stabbing on the light rail. terry thomas is already in jail and his announced accomplice has been charged in the stabbing. police believe they have recovered the weapon used in that attack. >> a deadly crash in northwest

smoldering embers were taken out of the fireplace to make way for santa claus. that bag is believed to of caught fire and the fire spread through the home. that was the deadliest fire in connecticut in 24 years. >> we could see gasoline prices going up again but not because of rising oil prices. may was the end of subsidies that would help lower the price of ethanol. gasoline prices could cost four and a half cents a gallon more starting as early as this week. mccormick is starting to the home chef for help. jane king has the bloomberg business report. >> consumers are looking

fight a judgment that they have already -- they have already really lost the underlying issue. it seems like it would be more economical just to pay the money and move on and not have these vehicles possibly up for grabs. >> we're told the vehicles and computers will remain in the possession of the housing authority before they call up for auction. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> cleaning up the chesapeake bay will add 250,000 jobs. this disproves the theory that environmental regulations hurt the economy. >> it has been estimated that just for the chesapeake bay plan, over 230,000 job s be created in the storm water and sewage treatment plant upgrade area. >> the report outlines the new
