a case against a man charged with attempted murder. johs tors say trey onto concrete and stomped on him. >> controversy regarding a home invasion in baltimore city. this happened on new year's weekend. residents want to know why police didn't tell them about that sooner. we have more details on the story. >> bolton hill as a close relationship with police. police did not warn them they learned about the crime because the victim got the word out. police say two suspects whose images were captured by a

camera approached the victim. they said hello to the victim as they displayed a handgun. the victim gave up phone and explained his wallet was in his house. he was marched from room to room looking for cash and other the labels. the victim was ordered back into the suv and drove around for hours. residents did not hear about this crime until the victim himself warned neighbors through an e-mail. given the close relationship with authorities, police did not warn them. >> the bolton hill neighbors at the mount royal improvement association meeting, our larger neighborhood association meeting, were shocked that our representative from the police department who appeared at this meeting was not aware of this crime at all. he got a lot of heat.

>> the suspects are described as african american in the early 20's. neither of them have facial hair. anyone with information are urged to call the detectives unit. police will be pressed for more timely information about crime in their community. reporting live in the newsroom. >> a dundalk man is charged with attempted murder after reportedly setting his girlfriend on fire. we brought you this story back in november. police say that fire was set on purpose. joseph miller admits to pouring gasoline on himself and lighting a match. >> she ran out the back door. i was on the phone talking to 911.

a teenager is arrested in connection with a fire. he is charged with malicious burning and other offenses. the fire was reported on sunday afternoon. he started the fire when he was playing with a lighter, said the fire marshal. >> the search is on for two suspects in an alleged kidnapping in baltimore city. residents want to know what police did not warn them about it. we're joined live with the latest on the story. >> bolton hill has a very close relationship with police. the community meets regularly with officers. they have a program. what troubles residents is that police did not warn them. they learned about the crime only because the victim got the word out.

according to the individuals coridally said hello to the victim as they displayed a silver handgun. they demanded were their phones. the unidentified victim gave up his phone and explained his wallet was in his house. at gunpoint, he was marched from room to room looking for cash and other valuables. they try to pry his tv mounted on a wall. of the artists said they took clothing and jewelry but that was not enough. eventually, they ordered the victim back into the suv and drove around for hours, stopping at atm machines to withdraw money from his account. some of the withdrawal attempts failed. they took turns holding a gun to

the shooting happened outside of crownsville. the victim survived. no word on what led up to that shooting. >> attorneys in the trial of a man accused of raping a girl are expected to wrap up their cases this morning. forensics biologist testified she conducted the dna analysis but told jurors there's no dna match for the defendant. he also offered reasons why dna might not be present during a sexual assault. the case could go to the jury this afternoon. >> the first deadly fire of the year claims the life of a retired principal. mary hines died of smoke inhalation. we're told crews were met with heavy smoke when they arrived on
