degree rape and not guilty of second-degree rape involving a difference of age, mean the victim was under four -- 14. the jury told the judge it was hopelessly deadlocked. davon perry was on trial accused of raping a 12-year-old girl at the roller rink. the girl initially said she was grabbed and dragged into a storage room in august of 2020 -- 2010. she says three men held their down and forced her to perform sexual acts. one faced charges in juvenile court and a 19-year-old flood guilty to a sex offense charged. prosecutors presented dna evidence showing they were involved but lack the dna from davon perry. >> my client, first of all, denied culpability from the very beginning. the evidence presented by the states, although they did do a good job in their presentation, the standard of guilt is beyond

a reasonable doubt and the state did not need the burden. >> it has been hard because we want him home and we knew he was innocent. davon cannot do this. there was no dna. we knew he was innocent. >> the baltimore county state's attorney's office declined to comment because of pending charges. perr's family said the prosecutors offered a plea deal but davon perry refused it. reporting live, barry simms, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. opening statements are expected in the trial of an inmate accused of murdering a corrections officer at the former house of corrections in at jesup. prosecutors say 32-year-old lee stevens step to the corporal mcguin into the other six and a second suspect has been charged. it could be a test of maryland's revised application of the death penalty. four arrested in connection with a deadly bar brawl in carroll county in august.

identified the men as the two- year old john robie from hagerstown and his two sons, each charged with second-degree manslaughter and assault. a fourth man, michael grimes, is charged with manslaughter and assault. police say each of them took part in the brawl that killed 26-year-old craig myers. two people are in shock, following a stabbing in brooklyn park. it happened just after 8:00 p.m. sunday night in the 300 block of orchard ave. a man and woman were both stabbed. they are in serious condition. no word on a possible motive or suspect. friends and family are mourning a local chairmen, carroll county native matthew sidler was killed in action. our reporter talked to some of matthew's friends. >> even when you have friends serving in the military, you don't expect ever to get a phone

call -- and you don't expect ever to hear that it was your friend who is gone, that was killed. >> when christopher got this call if you days ago, his friends had been killed by and ied in afghanistan. >> that was tough. it really took a few days for it to even settle in. i just could not believe my friend was gone. and that i was not going to see him again. the matthew graduated from westminster high school in 2008 and entered active duty in november of 2009. he had just celebrated his 24th birthday on tuesday and his facebook page was filled with well wishes. a few days later, they were riding on his wall to express their condolences. christopher has been holding on to fund memories. >> we would have fun. but really, the best parts were really just everyday, playing

parliamentary elections. iran claims amir mirzaei hekmati received special training and served at military bases in iraq and afghanistan before heading to iran. the 28-year-old former military translator was born in arizona and graduated from high school in michigan. he was visiting his grandmother's in iran when he was arrested. under iranian law he has 20 days to appeal his sentence. back here, about 100 soldiers are on lockdown at a base in washington state while military police investigate a theft involving hundreds of pieces of sensitive military equipment. the soldiers are being held in a building at joint base -- while authorities are trying to find out what happened to hundreds of sites, scopes, and night vision goggles. all of the soldiers are part of the striker force brigade second infantry division. they have been confined -- confined since saturday and no one is allowed to leave until the investigation is finished. still to come, we interview the new stars -- stars of the new

>> good afternoon. we are keeping our eye on hd doppler. at the latest storm system coming our way. you can see the first batch of moisture in the southern tier of maryland, coming as a wintry mix. a light rain toward the same areas, and if you had no. it may actually come in at mixed in with some ice and maybe some snow as well. as possible around glen burnie or annapolis. but there is more cold air behind it. something to keep in mind, we could still continue to see the rain-snow line inching closer to baltimore. what is happening? we have the moisture and it is cold enough to snow. we needed to be near freezing but it does not have to be that way background. even though it is well above freezing on the ground we could get snow in baltimore. 37 degrees in gaithersburg. we are tracking this on futurecast, which shows the

possibility of the presentation and baltimore. here is the futurecast, you can see the light pink, that is just hinting at the possibility of some wintry weather. baltimore is basically on the northern fringe. and where north of that stays mostly dry. around baltimore through anne arundel county, if you get showers this afternoon they will be pretty lights and a good them down with a mix of snow. a better chance to see the mixing around 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and if you see anything before that it is probably too warm to get mostly anything else but rain. but we will see the temperatures dropped close to freezing and he's -- freezing closer to 9:00 p.m. if we could see light showers mixing with snow and then the showers should and early this evening. down to the upper 20's for the low temperature. the first system moving to the south and passing off shore but the next one is forming right now in texas, heading our way into thursday -- wednesday night, into thursday, and it

will come with heavier precipitation most likely in the form of rain as it draws and warmer air. fast forward to wednesday, the rain develops over baltimore. we are on the warm side of the storm. this is just a rain event that tapers off. the back end, maybe snow showers leftover fried it. what you will notice is a noticeable change in the temperatures by the end of next week. in the 50's for the next couple of days. as we drive out this weekend into the playoff game sunday, those temperatures will be chilly. expect upper 30's at best. >> for the first time in more than two decades, all three american auto makers made gains. it has given a sense of hope to car companies at this year's the toward auto show. >> small cars, big expectations. the focus of the detroit auto show where 40 new models are making their debut. >> the first thing everyone will know this is an upbeat spirit
