weeks pregnant. authorities learned of the case after she drove the turn major to a hospital after she suffered a ruptured uterus. maryland allows murder charges against someone accused of killing a viable fetus. joaquinia lajeuness is charged with a child abuse of assaults regarding her son elijah. he was found dead five months later of asphyxiation in columbia. a first in a series of studies of a natural gas drilling. the report made no comment on the possible environmental impact of the process which extracts natural gas and ne.sting with a watery bria

it recommended a feat to companies that would drill in those regions. two more studies are due in the next two years. >> the search for answers continues after two women were killed in a fire in essex. kim dacey has more on the investigation. >> fire crews were called here to the 900 block of arncliffe road around 7:30 last night. fire officials say there was smoke coming from the windows and a neighbor knocking on the door. they found two women inside, 41 and 63 years old. "the baltimore sun" is reporting that neighbors say the two were mother and daughter. no official identification has been released. firefighters say both were found upstairs in the home. they did what they could for the victims. >> crews arrived and they

knocked down the fire gate and did a quick removal of two victims, two adult females in critical condition. females were transported to bayview and franklin square hospital where they were pronounced dead at the scene. >> the cause of the fire is still under investigation. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> police officers are going door-to-door in the hope of finding the killer of a beloved retired school principal. it was thought mary hines died from a fire last week. an autopsy found she had been stabbed multiple times. police are now canvassing the neighborhood. >> the lady lived by herself. somebody had to know something. >> i don't care who you call but call somebody in authority so we can put this homicide down.

>> some neighbors say she may have had a troubled relationship with a nephew. >> new details of a story. police have charged a man that stabbed his wife multiple times. this happened just after 8:00 p.m. on sunday night. police arrived on the scene and found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. both were taken to shock trauma where they are listed in serious but stable condition. >> a man has been acquitted of rape. the jury found davon perry not guilty of rape. they told the judge they were deadlocked on two other accounts. this happened in august of 2010. perry denied involvement and its

dna was not found on the victim or is clothing. >> we knew that davon was innocent and we're happy. >> two other suspects pleaded guilty to lesser counts for their involvement in the case. >> a former army soldier and in maryland -- authorities say craig baxam converted to moslem and was headed to somalia to join al-shabaab and he was caught in kenya. if convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison. a citizen has been charged with trying to carry up a series of bombings. authorities described him as an islamic extremists who wanted to die to terrorize his adopted

>> good morning. we're starting you off with a live view from the skycam. 35 degrees downtown. the fog is the biggest concern through 9:00 a.m. it could be dense at time from 95 west. visibility down to a half mile. any work east of that, it will be more patchy but still something to watch out for. maybe some areas of drizzle. we have milder temperatures but the ground is calleold.

the mild air is helping to produce some of that fog. 33 at the airport. 30 in westminster. with temperatures below freezing, if we get any mist, a move that could stick on the roads. that fog should dissipate after 9:00 a.m. and we will have full sunshine. the temperatures will be warming up. 51 in baltimore. low 40's out in the mountains. tonight, the skies will be mostly clear. then we will see a few clouds pushed in. we will see more clouds increase into tomorrow. for now, these white clouds and the fog will be pushing offshore. the next storm system is forming down in texas.

the backside, maybe some snow. the rain man pushes in through wednesday afternoon. maybe some comes down as a wintry mix. the second piece of the storm and it could be called bank enough to see some snow on friday. -- it could be cold enough to see some snow. we drop into the 30's this weekend. some models have been hinting at a storm for sunday's playoff game. >> not bad. nothing too freaked out about. on the inner loop, some debris in the road near park heights. we have an accident at overland avenue. that should be cleared shortly. 43 on southbound 95.

three men have been rescued from a massive cave in west virginia. the man went into the cave but did not return as expected sunday night. trained cave rescuers began their search in the middle of the night. some amazing pictures out of alaska. a port town that has seen 18 feet of snow in the last few weeks. at least six homes are under threat of collapse. a disaster declaration after weeks of snow falls overwhelmed crews and cut off access by roads. >> it seems rising grocery bills are making eating out more affordable these days.

meat and egg prices were up. the company that brought you the 20 is close to going under. is preparing torand file for chapter 11 bankruptcy. the company faces high labor costs and rising prices for ingredients such as sugar and flour. more young veterans are having trouble finding work. jane king has the bloomberg business report. >> the department of agriculture closing 259 offices that this is with food safety. this is part of a plan to save $150 million a year.

be extra careful and watch for that making your way to the j.f.x. 95 southbound is looking good down towards the white marsh area. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. ava has a check on your forecast. >> we have to watch out for some fog out there. dense fog is an issue west of 95. temperatures currently below freezing. maybe some freezing on the roadway. we're expecting clearing condition. we're heading for a high of 51 degrees with sunshine as high pressure builds in. details on the seven-day forecast when we come back. >> a new book is revealing some tensions between the first lady and some of the president's staff. >> the author says it has not been pretty.

>> two french journalists claimed michelle obama said the french first lady was living in the white house was "hell." the incident led to what is perhaps the most eyebrows raised it assertion in a new book by a new york times reporter. robert gibbs on loaded, cursing michelle obama after a top adviser said the first lady was dissatisfied with the response to the alleged comment. the book over hypes and sensationalizes events but would not say the event is not true. >> sometimes the intensity leads people to raise their voices or have sharp exchanges. a genuine focus.

good morning. >> it is 11 hours later and you can still smell the smoky smell outside the home. the women are the first fire fatalities in baltimore county so far this year. firefighters did get them out of the house but it was too late. >> police arrived and neighbors were knocking on the door. there was smoke showing from the windows. >> 7:30 monday night, baltimore county fire crews arrived at a home in the 900 block of arncliffe road in essex. fire officials say they quickly knocked down the fire and went inside and found two women. >> the victims were found upstairs, one in the bathroom and one near the bathroom. >> fire officials say the victims were 41 and 63 years old. "the baltimore sun" is reporting neighbors say the two are mother and daughter, but no official identification has been made. firefighters got them out, but it was too late. >> removal of two victims, two adult females in critical condition. females were transported to bayview and franklin square hospital where they were pronounced dead at the scene.

>> the cause of this fire remains under investigation. reporting live in essex, kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> the mayor is keeping tight- lipped regarding the recent seizure of tens of thousands of dollars of property to resolve a lawsuit. the sheriff's office tagged dozens of vehicles and equipment for auction. that money will pay part of a judgment for people who suffered brain damage. the mayor seemed reluctant to respond. >> this is an ongoing and complex litigation. cases that we inherited and i can say much more than that. >> the mayor said she was working on the resolution to the non-payment of the judgment but wouldn't comment on the status

of the plan yesterday. a recent indictment includes four people to steal $1.4 million from the city housing authority. they said they set up a phony company and was true money from the account. the accused are from prince george's county and from washington, d.c. >> gregg bernstein says he will back legislation to reduce penalties for those convicted of possessing small amounts of marijuana. the top prosecutor considers 14 grams a small amount and the city wants to change it to a maximum of 90 days. >> we are looking at the statistics and few people if any are incarcerated for possession of these small amounts of marijuana and to keep us more in line of jurisdictions

volume continues to build. we have a couple of problems. inner loop at park heights, some debris in the road. a delay on 95 southbound towards the beltway northeast. 26 on the west side outer loop down towards security. patapsco avenue, word of it sinkhole. everything moving well at the tunnel and the area bridges. this is part kites. inner loop traffic is tapping the brakes just a bit. there's a trash bag in the road. this is the beltway at baltimore national pike. that is the west side delight and things start to back down around liberty. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> thank you. yesterday we had a christmas tree in the road. you may have to contend with

could shed some light on who might have wanted to harm her. a jury has acquitted a man of rape. the jury found davon perry not guilty of rape. he was identified as one of three attackers who dragged her into a storage room back in 2010 and forced her to perform sex acts on them. his dna was not found on the victim or clothing. half of americans think drivers should lose their license for texting while driver. people who text should lose their license for a period of time, said half of those polled.
