brought to you as breaking news at 5:00, a 16-year-old girl is recovering after anne arundel county police say she was attacked in pasadena. she was stabbed in the stomach. happened around 3:30 this afternoon. there is no word on the victim condition or what led to the violence. >> as governor o'malley offered an alternative to the 15 cent increase gas tax. >> the governor is floating the idea of raising the sales tax from 6% to 7%. david collins has the latest. >> governor martin o'malley. >> the governor is floating the idea of increasing the sales tax from 6% to 7%. he said the revenue could flood the budget deficit and help replenish transportation funding. >> if we were to raise the sales tax by another penny, it would

team being a flight risk. >> they came to district court to show their support for robert richardson iii. his half sister and mother read over the court charging document and the police report. the sister called some of these statements are untrue. the charging document describes how an anonymous caller contacted -- contacted the deputies saying a relative had shot their father. in court, richardson appeared on a video monitor for his bail review. he calmly listed to the charges against him that included first and second degree murder. he is accused of using a hand gun to shoot and kill his father at their home in bel air. he is also accused of dragging the body and transporting it to aberdeen and dumping it in upon the. sheriff's deputies said they found the body partially submerged in the pond.

during the bill review, the judge asked if richardson had received a copy of the charges. he replied, i signed a lot of papers. i am not sure i received a copy of charges. a public defender is representing him. the judge said he would remain on a no bond status because of the seriousness of the charges. the judge also worried about the teenager been a flight risk since he led them on a chase through bel-air and crashed his chevy blazer he was driving into a cinder block wall at the methodist church on linwood avenue. the judge said not to talk to anyone else but his attorney he learned that the teen had relatives living outside of the state and florida. >> we also learned in court that he has pending juvenile cases of breaking and entering and a drug charges. the judge asked the public defender if he was seeking a reverse waver.

they said a determination would be made in a few days. >> thank you, barry. a baltimore county man is in custody after he threw a torture terrier off a balcony. gary wallace, jr. faces animal cruelty charges. he threw a tiny terrier named louie off of a balcony owens mills. the dog was treated for injuries and is in the custody of animal control. >> animal cruelty of this level is a felony the bail and prosecution is the same with any other felony. that is something we think that is goodw. isallace is being held on $250,000 bail. >> about one week after an armed robbery and bolton hill, an art student was robbed at gunpoint in the same neighborhood.

it happened on park avenue not far from the campus. lowel mesler to let us with more. >> we spoke exclusively with the victim and he told us he was simply not paying attention when he was robbed in that bolton hill neighborhood. neighbors are concerned that violence like this one will spiral out of control and somebody will get hurt. >> there was only $3 and it. >> they did not get much. >> that is all four suspects. that is all they got from cabin as he was walking here in the 1200 block of park avenue. >> two of them were on the opposite side of the street. one of them had a gun and the other guy was on -- was behind me. >> the suspects fled eastbound. kevin said he was not paying attention to his surroundings. >> i was not being very

cautious. i was just running down the street. >> this robbery comes on the heels of a combination home invasion armed robbery kidnapping that happened in a late december but we only found out about it last week. two suspects forced a man into a car and made him drive around and withdraw money from a number of atms. police released at these photos and are comparing both crimes. >> at this point there is nothing to suggest that they are, but that does not mean we are not looking for some kind of commonality. hopefully we will get some information from witnesses. >> there was a noticeable police presence and the bolton hill area. some we spoke with were concerned. >> when looking -- we heard that bolton hill was one of the safer neighborhoods. it is disappointing study crime is rising.

happiest people in baltimore, all the attention that the baltimore ravens are drawing a. let's talk about the baltimore ravens. we had a chance to talk to flacco as he has a chance to take on the houston texans. he has some impressive accomplishments in his career. he becomes the first quarterback to lead his team into the playoffs four times in a row in his career since the 1950's. i understand playoff structures that changed dramatically over the years, but it gives you a perspective on how much experience flacco has picked up in a few short years. i asked them what he has picked up that he did not know for years ago. >> i do not think you realize how important it is early on. you realize it, but you do not quite grasp it. at this point you realize even

though we have been there for a fourth straight year, how great of an opportunity and reserve this is and how much we have to capitalize on it. >> you can hear our interview saturday night during our one hour preview of the playoff game "the road to indianapolis." during the interview we even talk about flacco's to manchu. he has some interesting comments on that as well. luke scott , he will see him from the other side of the field. he signed a one-year deal with the candidate race. shoulder surgery cut his season short last summer. the orioles let him go because they did not want to make the investment following the surgery. we will see if they've made the right decision or not.

the tigers take on william and mary tonight. towson guns and on a 35 game losing streak. it is the longest in the history of division won a men's basketball. they are coming in at 3-13. they hope tonight will be denied for the tigers to finally end the longest losing streak in division 1 college basketball history. the tigers tell us they are thrilled to the baltimore ravens are drawing so much attention because it helps them glide under the radar. they hope to turn that attention to a win streak tonight. we will have highlights at 11:00. tipoff is at 7:00. stick around, tom tasselmyer is back with a seven day forecast. there are big changes ahead.
