he was on a wheelchair. he had slipped under. >> a nightmare at a metro station as a subway train ran over a man. good evening. that is our big story tonight. firefighters were able to rescue the man who is recovering from injuries tonight. it happened around 3:00 in the afternoon. that is where sheldon joins us live. cox officials have identified that victim as albert jodd. he was on the platform as the train was pulling up. officials are trying to figure out if it lost control of his wheelchair or if it malfunctioned sending him over the edge. >> i knew something was wrong. i knew they had something but i did not know it was a person. he was on a wheelchair and he had slipped under. >> she did not see the victim

getting hit but she was on the train that ran him over. >> it was like a sudden stop. people were screaming. they were seeing if he was ok. >> we immediately closed the station. >> 1 firefighters and paramedics arrived they found the man trapped under the train. they say he was conscious and alert. >> i did suffer some contusions and some other musculoskeletal injuries as a result of being run over by the train. >> they are not aware if you lost control or if his will chair malfunctioned. firefighters were able to safely pull him out from under the train and said he is lucky to be alive. >> the victim is in stable

condition with non-life threatening injuries. >> bail denied, that is the rolling tonight for a 16 year- old who killed his father. the judge said he refused to bail for richard son because he considers the 16-year-old to be a flight risk. he is accused of shooting his father to death in the bel air and dumping the body in a pond and aberdeen. about one week after an armed robbery a student at a nearby college says he was also robbed at gunpoint. it happened in the 1200 block of park avenue. the victim says he was walking in the bolton hill neighborhood 14 suspects approached him. >> two of them were on the opposite side of the street and they ran across the street.

one guy had a gun and the other guy was behind me. >> the victim said the suspects fled on foot behind the 100 block of the street. this robbery comes on the heels of another armed robbery last month with a resident was kidnapped and forced to drive to a number of atms to withdraw money. a report from john hopkins school of health shows the have prevented violent murders or the past three years. it focuses on the the cherry hill communities. homicides dropped 56% in cherry hill alone. researchers say the new deborah's point to the program as an important component of the city wide reduction and homicides and guns. they hope to seek additional funding for the program. jack young is as baltimore mayor stephanie rawlings break should

president young did not return our comments about his letter. >> in a session 2012 as lawmakers kicked off, governor o'malley offered an alternative to the proposed increase in the state gas tax. he brought up raising it from 6% to 7% during a mark steiner radio show. he said the revenue could plug the budget deficit and replenish transportation funding. >> if we were to raise the sales tax by another penny, it would be a broad based think it to do. it would enable us to do a lot of the things that have to get done and the course of this session. >> the governor's top aide said the proposal would not be included in the budget he plans to send it to lawmakers. during this legislative session,

maryland and rum state superintendent plans to become a familiar face. sandusky says even though he is not pushing a particular agenda, there is no doubt education will be front and center. the role of superintend that will allow him to weigh in on legislation affecting children that could eventually end up on the state board. >> it is extremely important for us to monitor what happens in annapolis. there are hundreds of bills that in some way are reflective of some type of policy change for public education. >> in the meantime, they are searching for a new superintendent. it is a role vacated last summer. lawmakers are expected to be a part of the process. >> just four days, the baltimore ravens will host the first playoff game in five years when
