tonight, city health officials are asking parents to monitor children for some * of a scarlet fever. this after multiple cases were confirmed. >> scarlet fever is caused by the same bacteria that causes strep throat and it is highly contagious. they sent this letter from two- parent at george washington elementary school. according to city health officials, three students from the same class have confirmed cases of scarlet fever. it is a common infection that spread from person to person by sneezing or coughing. school officials say they are taking steps to prevent it from going from student to student. representatives will be at the school tomorrow morning to answer any questions or concerns parents may have. there are asking them to monitor children for the
