charges. she allegedly drove in new jersey teenager to elkton hospital after she suffered a ruptured uterus. maryland allows murder charges to be brought against somebody accused of killing a viable fetus. there was a hit-and-run accident in glen burnie. 41-year-old marco garcia was hit by a car and the driver never stop. witnesses identified the vehicle was damaged consistent. police were led to john correlli of baltimore and he is charged with numerous traffic offenses. purple friday is here and this week it is bigger and better than ever. >> the ravens take on the

laid his cards on the table as to how he plans to correct the billion dollar budget gap. nadia ramdass is live in the studio and to explain. good morning. >> the governor's plan to people together in opposition. the governor is proposing to cap income tax exemptions at 90% in households whose income is at least $100,000, and 80% for those who earn $200,000 or more. opponents say the threshold is too low. >> and early reaction is that possibly the thresholds are too low and might need to be raised. so we're going to look at that. >> some legislators are recommending the threshold be increased to $250,000 or $300,000. there is no word on when lawmakers will vote on the proposal. nadia ramdass, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you.

a rally calling for a hike in the gas tax was held in maryland on thursday. they want to make sure funds stay in the transportation budget. the governor is expected to make an announcement about his plan for a gas tax increase. lawmakers are teaming up to launch a program aimed at giving military veterans jobs. hiring preference for jobs for veterans are pledged. >> it makes sense for a number of reasons. you'll be getting a quality work force in those men and women. they have a strong work ethic. >> they employ it 36,000 people statewide.

the roads and the trees. if we do get some snow, it will be an inch or less of accumulation. after it 10:00, the temperature should get about 32 degrees. before 10:00 a.m. on saturday, that is when you could see some trouble. this will be a more significant snow event for folks north of us. 2-6 inches of snow. there will most likely be some flight delays around boston and maybe some cancellations. keep that in mind. on sunday, the storm will be gone and the weather will be fine. breezy with temperatures in the 30's. the rain should end by the middle of the afternoon and i

hated. a powerful chair is looking raising the income threshold to $250,000. governor martin o'malley's proposed tax increase for households earning $100,000 or more is already being tweaked by the powerful chair of the senate budget and tax committee. our david collins asked the chair about those tweaks. >> and early reaction is that possibly the thresholds are too low and might need to be raised. so we're going to look at that. we haven't done it yet. >> is there a range being discussed? if $100,000 is too low, what would be a more reasonable -- >> again, this is just me and not the committee. but, you know, $250,000, $300,000 and above. >> the governor proposes capping income tax exemptions at 90% for $100,000 wage-earners and above, and 80% for incomes $200,000 or more. $100,000 households would lose

10% of their deductions on things such as mortgage interest, property taxes, and charitable contributions. households earning $200,000 and more would see a 20% reduction in deductions. >> what we need to do is have a fair system of taxation. we do not want to overtax anyone. but at the same time, we need to stay number one in education. >> even house democrats consider the governor's plan as a tough sell. republicans have already labeled it a thousand-aire's tax. they say it won't matter if the senate raises the threshold from $100,000. >> i know a lot of people who don't consider themselves wealthy trying to pay their bills, put their kids through college, and make ends meet, and this governor is going after them and he's going after the small businesses, as well. this is outrageous. >> some legislators are recommending the threshold be raised to $250,000 or $300,000. there is no word on when lawmakers will vote on the proposal.
