police it happened around 2:15 this afternoon just a few blocks away from a school. the 18-year-old is a former student and he had to be airlifted to shot, for treatment. that is where it shelled and joins us with the very latest. the >> the area around his right eye was so badly injured he had to be airlifted. officials say he is in the surgery but his injuries are no longer life threatening. >> there are problems every now and then. kids will be kids. it is rare seeing something this tragic to an extreme. >> this is where police say a student got into a fight with another teenager who used to attend the school. it happened around 2:15 just off campus. glucks i was walking home from school. we did not see it, but we saw a kid on the ground. >> it is unknown what provoked

the fight. the 18-year-old injuries were so severe he had to be airlifted to shock trauma. >> you do not want to waste any time with a party one agent. i cannot disclose the injuries are now. >> it is scary because we have never had that happen. >> although she says there has not be an extreme crisis like this one, she is not surprised by it. >> there are always kids hanging out front. they are just chilling and smoking cigarettes and stuff. >> am i worried? yes. you have kids you worry. that is our job. >> i am not worried. >> the charges have been filed. police say the two teams to each other. this is still an active investigation and police are working to interview witnesses.

we are live at shock trauma in baltimore. >> police are looking for this suspect at another high school. we are told that rodrecus medly approached a young man sitting in a crowd on wednesday. he appeared to be touching and patting the victim who was visibly upset. he was actually stealing money from the pockets and it took off. if you know him or his whereabouts, you are asked to call 1-866-7-lockup. a child and adult are in serious condition after a fire in the northeast baltimore. flames swept through the rowhome around 5:00 this morning. two others to escape through the second story window. one child and adult were sticking to a hospital. >> me and my roommate saw flames

coming out of the house. we saw the lady come out with her son. the house was totally burnt down. >> there is no word on what sparked the blaze. we are told the salvation army is assisting the displaced family. sky team 11 was on the scene after a deadly cinder -- single car crash. it happened near philadelphia wrote. we are told the 84-year-old driver swerved out of traffic and hit two mailboxes before she hit some trees. she was airlifted to shop, where she died. life without parole, that is the sentence for a maryland woman accused of killing her co-worker at a bethesda closing shop -- clothing shop. bernie norwood was convicted. -- brittany norwood was convicted. she told police they were

assaulted by two masked men. baltimore city police department went outside to hire two key commanders. both fires are the results of problems that happen last year. jayne miller has details. >> that was a rough year for the baltimore police department. in january, a chaotic scene outside of a downtown nightclub ended with two men dead. one of them, william corbett, was a city police officer shot and killed by friendly fire. 17 officers were arrested on federal charges in a kickback scheme with a towing company. bealefeld introduced two new commanders were charged with fixing what is wrong. grayling williams is the new chief of internal affairs. he comes from the drug forssmann administration at home and security. >> i can count on the number -- i can count the number of

it turns cold out there again and clearing up with partly cloudy skies going into monday. by monday the temperatures are back to normal. tomorrow we take it down a notch in to the 50's tomorrow. the risk of an evening sprinkel. rain and snow showers off and on both saturday and sunday and getting chillier. on the eastern shore tomorrow we're not talking 60 degree warmth but still 60's. down toward the lower eastern shore 7 delaware -- delaware, 55 tomorrow and 48 with a sparkle on sunday. it is creating a bit of a wind chill for faults as they get out of the day on each of the plunges. by 11:00 in the morning we are at 44. 3:00 in the afternoon close to 50. the wins will be brisk throughout the day.
