50 overnight. sheldon dutes is live at state police headquarters. we understand one car was traveling in the lebron -- wrong lane of traffic. >> state police are trying to figure out how the car ended up on the wrong side of the road. three people were driving westbound in the eastbound lane. that slammed into another car around 3:00 in the morning. the cars caught on fire killing three people on the scene. the fourth person died of a way to the hospital. state police have identified three of the people. not long before the accident happened, several people called 911 to report cars driving in the wrong lane. >> the crash team is doing a

thorough investigation. it is not evident yet whether alcohol or speed were factors in the crash. >> officials are still trying to identify -- reach out to the victims' families. they will release those names as soon as they do. sheldon dutes for wbal-tv 11 news. >> 11 news has learned a man killed in an overnight crash was a high school custodian. it happened before 1:00 this morning. fire officials tell us he was killed on the scene after colliding with another vehicle. the passengers of the other vehicle were being treated for minor injuries. anne arundel police are handling the investigation. anne arundel public county school officials tell us he had been working at the high school for seven years and was very well-liked. there will be a candlelight vigil for him tonight at 7:00.

an early morning accident left two people dead in a tragic turn of events. 26-year-old meghan was driving west before 7:00 this morning when her car struck thomas gustafson who was walking or standing on the road. she got out to help with another car came by and struck them both. she was pronounced dead on the scene. he died from injuries that shock trauma. police are consulting with the state attorney's office on charges after a brutal assault that left an 18-year-old severely injured. 11 news has confirmed the teenager has undergone an eye surgery. preliminary investigation reveals the 18-year-old got into a fight with the 15-year-old student after school let out. the two apparently knew each other. there is no word on what may have led to the dispute. there is no word on the
