disaster that ended up unfolding on route 50. at least a dozen people saw the car with three teens as a navigated through oncoming traffic early saturday morning. tonight, we have obtained the 911 takes that captured their pleas for help in the final minutes before the crash that killed four people. kerry cavanaugh has the latest for us. >> the call for dealing mixture of emotions. callers were worried that others would not be so fortunate. most of all you hear an overwhelming sense of confusion about how the sedan carrying three teenagers wound up traveling the wrong way on two major highways. >> i don't think they had a clue they are on the wrong side of the road. >> everyone who passed the red chrysler realize a car was charting a potentially deadly course as it continued against traffic in anne arundel county. >> all the sudden i saw these

lights. >> callers describe flashing their headlights to get the driver's attention in the wee hours of saturday morning. the warning fell to reach 19- year-old britney and walker, who was behind the wheel, according to police. >> i hope you get them and everyone is ok. >> police could not catch up with the car before it crashed, killing locker and heard two 18- year-old passengers. rescue workers had to attach -- that had to cut them out of the wreckage. it is unclear how the teenagers wound up traveling on the wrong side of the road. karen says it does not make any difference when it comes to her grief as a family friend. >> it is so sad, because they are going this -- going through

3:00 on i was 81. the driver of a truck was killed. the truck driver and passenger for taken to a nearby hospital. the accident shut down the interstate in both directions for several hours. repeople recovering tonight after crash forced the car to overturn in east baltimore. we are told two cars collided around 5:45 this evening near 21st and remount avenue. all three victims were taken to area hospitals. no word on their condition or the cause of the crash. prices at the pump could be going up a lot more if the governor gets his way. the governor outlined his proposal to that that would apply to the senate rejected the state's 6% sales tax for gas. that means gas prices would increase over the next three years. the tax on gas has remained the same since 1992 and is a separate tax that does not include sales tax.

gathered in front of the state house tonight. they say they are not only concerned about protecting religious freedom, but about the impact of redefining marriage in the state of maryland. >> this bill will cost to take people -- will cause people to think of what our governor's wife called us, cowards. >> demonstrators came from all over the state. singing, chanting, and carrying signs in protest of same-sex marriage. the maryland marriage alliance, a statewide group of religious leaders, scheduled a rally to protest the civil marriage protection act on the eve of the bills' first committee hearing in the senate. >> he means what he says, and he says what he means. and god said marriages between a man and a woman, and that is the way it should be. >> i support the governor's bill that protect religious liberty but allows families to

afternoon. kai reed, wbal-tv 11 news. >> maryland center robert chokoloskee joined governor o'malley for the ribbon cutting ceremony. the center brings together internal scientists and human behavior researchers to examine and approve internal problems. the new center is one of only three in the country and is supported by the national science foundation. tonight, a former baltimore city school teacher's assistant is fighting for the benefit she expected to receive after taking advantage of an early retirement incentive program. rebecca belon left the school system in june, but later received a letter denying her application. her attorney blames the school district, saying it made an error by having her complete and sign the wrong form. she says she does want where she was promised. >> i was what was due me.

city council did not approve of black, it was wilder's choice. wilder claimed the power to hire and fire staff members for the city council and then hire blacks as deputy chief administrator. the city council sued and won, but not before black put in three years. >> the city of richmond transition from a council manager former government to a strong mayor form of government. as a result, there was tremendous tension between the city council and the mayor, and a lot of staff such as myself got caught in the middle of it. >> he said he was pledging loyalty to his boss. further digging found that was not the only lawsuit black was involved in. according to a published report, the city council in richmond school board also sued both black and wilder after they tried to evict the board and its instructions from their city hall offices. the two men also launched a lawsuit. but the mayor in richmond at that time that was a very strong
