let's begin with john collins. what is the latest? >> in the city, it is a mix of snowflakes and raindrops. the farther north you go, the snowflakes get bigger. they are coming down as big snow showers. in baltimore county, all of howard and frederick county, they are getting snow. some of it is accumulating in the grass. the snow is west of the interstate 95 corridor figure -- 95 quarter. as you see on the radar, past hagerstown is not doing anything right now. we will see what happens tonight and tomorrow in a few minutes. >> 80 soldiers from the national

guard are back, after a deployment in iraq and afghanistan. sheldon dutes is live with more on the homecoming celebration. >> the soldiers are excited to be reunited with their families. they were honored for their hard work and sacrifice. they say they are grateful for the recognition. after spending a year away from each other, she is thrilled to have her husband brought home. >> it is wonderful. >> her husband is a member of the maryland national guard unit deployed to iraq, kuwait, and afghanistan. they did maintenance on blackrock helicopters. >> it was rough, but i was honored he could serve our country. i did what i needed to do to keep the home front going. >> our son was so excited when daddy came home. he will not leave him alone. everything is back to normal.

it is great to have the family back together. >> soldiers in the aviation maintenance unit were honored with a ceremony. as each soldier crossed the stage to be recognized, family members snapped pictures from the crowd. >> it is good to be appreciated and get recognition for my service and time away from my family. >> it is nice to honor the soldiers for serving their country and let them know we do appreciate giving their lives for our safety. >> the soldiers were happy to report there were no casualties during the recent appointment -- deployment. a special thank you to all of them for serving our country. >> anne arundel county police have arrested one of their own after learning he allegedly tipped off a group of suspects

who were about to be raided. detectives discovered rick alexander told the suspects about the raid. as a result, they relocated a large amount of marijuana discovered elsewhere. corporal alexander is a 14-year member of the department assigned to the patrol bureau. >> this incident in no way reflects upon the hard work and dedication of the one man and women who work for the anne arundel police department. we will continue to insist upon the highest conduct from our members. >> faces obstruction and injuring a police officer. there's no word on the relationship between him and the raid victims. in a commitment 2012, the nevada caucuses are under way. officials expect about 50,000 people to show up and vote for

ended. 45 was the high at the airport. we only have a little liquid and a trace of snow today. the record was over 7 inches. we will not beat that by any stretch. annapolis is 39. it is in the mid-40s to the south. it has not started precipitating yet. it is all in the 30's to the west where the snow has been falling. here is the satellite image. it is ending to our west. a lot of the precipitation overnight will be to the south. in iowa and nebraska, they are still having generous snow. the mississippi valley has a warm front to the south. we have the mix of precipitation in our area.

the storm will track along the ohio river valley. it will go out to sea overnight taking the moisture with it. tomorrow we will see improving weather. there will be a rain-snow mixed tonight. the accumulations will take place around freezing. by lite accumulation, we mean an inch or less. in the rain or snow will be in the morning. the skies will be partly cloudy by the afternoon. tomorrows highs will be about the same as today. it depends on how soon the sun can break through. there will be a 1-foot shop on the open waters of the bay. most of the action will be in the mountains and higher
