the african-american vote during the gubernatorial alexian are going on trial today. -- election are going on trial today. they told african-americans the election had already been decided. he will be sentenced next week. a 26-year-old men will learn his fate for his involvement in the assault of a girl. it was a 2010 incident at skate works. the state has enough evidence to commit -- to convict. two other suspects got lesser charges. >> jury selection is expected to begin a few hours from now for george huguely. he's accused in the murder of his ex-girlfriend, yeardley love. >> officials at the university of virginia have already warned

students and staff of the emotional toll that the case to present to the community. as one student stands trough for the murder of another. the murder of yeardley love happened on may 3, 2010 when her roommate found her face down in a pool of blood in her apartment by the university of arizona. police arrested a 24-year-old ex-boyfriend and then a lacrosse player, george huguely. his lawyer got to motions. the first, asking for a gag order. this was granted. the judge went one step further saying no pictures or video could be taken until the jury is seated. the second motion concerned showing 15 graphic photos to the jury pool. this was denied.

those pictures can be shown. more than 160 notices went out february 1, but that does not necessarily mean they'll be questioned for the george huguely trial. defense attorneys are hoping for a jury of 12 with three alternates. jury selection could stretch into tuesday but here it -- but attorneys on both sides are hoping to begin today and have opening statements tomorrow. we will have live reports on tonight at 5:00 and 6:00. reporting live in the studio, kim dacey. >> they will continue the case. but if convicted, he could be sentenced to death. veteran is accused

a social worker brought the boys to his home on a visit. he locked the door and in -- and ignited an inferno that killed him and his sons. he sent an e-mail that read simply, "i am sorry. goodbye." defense attorneys continue to ask for more time to make the man competent to aid in his own defense. he is accused of killing eight people and wounding 13 others. >> in this morning's consumer alert, 128,000 infant body suits are being called a choking hazard. the snaps can detached from the garments, causing a choking hazard.

suspects of a raid last week. despite finding the residents empty, they did track down a large amount of marijuana and cocaine at the site. he was arrested on friday. the second of two men accused of trying to suppress the african- american vote during the 2010 gubernatorial election are going on trial today. they're accused of sending out an automated messages to voters in african-american neighborhoods telling them that the election had already been decided. eight top former aide was convicted in this case last september. football fans got their money's worth out of the rematch of the giants and the patriots. in a hard-fought game, he led his team back to the final minutes of the game.
