a texas teenage girl is found not guilty after admitting she killed her own father. there was no dispute that she shot her father while she slept. attorneys argued it was in self- defense. the jury agreed. they said the threat of physical violence justified the killing. >> an entire staff of an elementary school was replaced. the replacement staff has already been trained. there'll be an investigation. parents of three virginia elementary students are charged with their children's excessive tardiness and face a $3 doll,000 fine.

expressed remorse to the victim's family. >> she realized that there may be a spiritual penalty that lay before as well. she felt bad about her involvement in this. >> after his death, police found shontay hickman had stolen checks from ro and deposited them in her account. a fingerprint led to her cousin. he is in prison on an unrelated homicide. jury deliberations continue in the murder trial of lee stephens. he is accused of killing david mcguinn. prosecutors said david mcguinn was cornered and stabbed back in 2006. among the key evidence, lee stephens's uniform that contains officer david mcguinn's blood.

>> jury selection continues this morning in the murder trial of george usually -- george huguely. he is accused of killing yeardley love. >> jury selection took longer than expected yesterday appeared the judge extended court hours and will pick things up this morning 30 minutes earlier at 9:00 a.m. the hope is to have the potential jurors in place. there should be a jury with 12 and three alternates. the hope is that this we done by at lunchtime with arguments coming in the afternoon. everything is subject to change. opening arguments could begin wednesday morning.
