he has an arrest record dating back to the 1990's. pretrial motions in a man accused of murdering his twin brother. this happened back in 2007. the brothers had a history of violent arguments. they are accused of stealing from a mall. >> the baltimore archdiocese is taking on the obama administration over a new policy. kim dacey is live downtown with the latest on this controversy. >> the position of the catholic church is that the obama administration is denying catholics their first amendment right to religious freedom. cardinal-designate edwin o'brien has already weighed in on the issue, saying the archdiocese of baltimore will not comply with the mandate even if it means dropping health

coverage for their 3,500 employees. the new federal policy forces every health plan to cover contraceptives. the mandate sets up catholic institutions like universities and hospitals to pay for medications like the pill that go against the faith. organizations like churches, where the majority of employees are roman catholic, are exempt. but o'brien does not believe that goes far enough. he issued a strongly worded letter to every parish, accusing the administration of attacking religious liberty. many beyond baltimore's archdiocese agree. >> our catholic institutions that serve this nation well are being told -- you who find these things offensive, you should pay for them. in fact, you must pay for it. >> the policy would go into effect this summer but gives religious employers an extra year to comply. the obama spokesman defended the mandate even as he raised the possibility of making some sort of concession to the church. reporting live downtown, kim

it is 40 degrees downtown. i am live at mica this morning, located in downtown baltimore and they tons of exhibits throughout the year. this is all about the dish towel. you are part of the group that is a still life organization that helps to put this on. they sent to a dish towel. >> this particular picture took about a year to resolve. there's quite a bit of spatial ideas within the picture itself that come about with the contrast of objects and were the dishtowel is relative to the picture plan, the dishes in the sink the come forward. it is allot about spatial relationships for may.

>> this is part of art history. >> the founder of our group started this group in 1994 and phelps that the state of the still life was not so good at the time. we started to show in different venues around the country and we have had about 50 exhibits now. this show has about 65 paintings in it. >> so nice to meet you. this runs to march 11. you can come see these paintings all based on the dishtowel. we see some flurries out into garrett county. that will be heading our way appeared we will go back to tony in the weather center. i cannot imagine what i would do with the dish towel. >> that is beautiful artwork.
