>> in north carolina woman is recovering after a car slammed into her home overnight. police in charlotte were chasing after the car when it crashed into a home early monday morning. a woman was sleeping in the bedroom and was trapped but it wreckage and have to be rescued by firefighters. officials found drugs and alcohol in the car. a virginia woman nearly escaped death in a huge tree crashed through her bedroom early sunday morning.

or six years there's been as comparisons between me and my character. there are a lot of things that i relate to karen, but there are things i don't relate to. it is wonderful to play something that challenges you and is different from yourself. >> you do singing and dancing for this role. how intense is it for you? >> we have been shooting since the end of august. i had a lot of dance rehearsals in the very beginning. the first three or four months i was constantly in dance rehearsals. it was great for me because i had not been in dance class and i was probably 16, 17 years old. i kind of had to reawakened my dancing side of my brain. it was wonderful. i had so much fun. now the schedule is so busy that in between shooting scenes they are trying to teach us choreography for the next

episode. it has been kind of crazy schedule. in the beginning, especially, i have been doing a lot of dancing. >> karen's relationship with her boyfriend is an interesting part of the story line. tell us how that relationship plays out. >> i have not got into the final episode yet. right now we are on episode 13 and they are still working on a 14. i think they become very busy with their own careers. there is a little bit of a strain. it is an interesting story like to see how they do with it. they support each other and love each other very much. it will be fun for people to watch and see what happens. >> it has been a pleasure. thank you for joining us. >> thanks for having me. >> "smash" it is tonight at
