for trouble but said he was shocked the police officers followed him after he walked away. he filed an official complaint with the department. >> give me your i.d.. i am asking for your id. >> the incident is being investigated. a police spokesman said police are looking at the video and conducting interviews to determine if the officers violated any policies or procedures. by a former baltimore city police officer is being held without bail, accused of raping a teenage girl. he was arrested after the victim said he raped her while she visited his home in december. this is the third time he has been accused of sexually abusing a minor. the first was back in march of 2008, and he was arrested again

after another 13-year-old girl accused him of sexual assault. those charges were eventually dropped. a man is facing several charges after police say he arrested -- he molested a northeast school girl. he was arrested after investigators say he fondled her in a car in december. documents show the victim and her family were familiar with him after he reportedly was mentoring young girls and helping them to gain admittance into western high school. >> the victim tells police the suspect is a mentor at her school. that is how she knows him. >> officials say she doesn't -- say shelley has never served as an employee or volunteered but does have children in the school district. baltimore city police say there may be other victims, and they are urging anyone with information to give them a call. an inmate convicted -- of the

jury determine the inmates convicted is eligible for the death penalty. tourists found he qualified to face death under maryland law because -- jurists found he qualified to face death under maryland law because biological evidence links him to the crime. he will face the next round of sentencing in which he could be sentenced to death or life in prison with or without the possibility of parole. >> and the murder trial of a man charged with killing his ex- girlfriend. some jurists were visibly distraught after scene photos of the large bruises, and a police officer testified about scratches and bruises as well as dna evidence gathered from the apartment. and medical examiner also testified he performed the autopsy. he pointed out the bruises and a hemorrhage in the area connecting the dots to the neck, suggesting a blunt force trauma

that could have been caused by pressure to the neck. >> in 2012, hundreds of people converged tonight in support of the governor's same-sex marriage bill. the rally kicked off a night of lobbying at the state house, where gov. o'malley was asked not to speak. same-sex advocate smith collected 15,000 postcards in support of same-sex unions. they were later distributed to legislative offices. >> if we are not going to pass it this year we are not going to pass it ever. it is important to give equal justice under the law. >> they heard testimony of the bill last week. it is unclear when it will be brought to vote. if it passes maryland will join seven other states and washington, d.c. in legally recognizing same-sex marriage. >> the governor of washington sign legislation legalizing same-sex marriage today amid

cheers and applause. the democratic governor said she believes they will keep the law if it comes down to a public vote. the law takes effect in june, but opponents are already working to overturn it. in a movie called the civil rights milestone, new jersey past a bill to approve same-sex marriage. it is expected to pass on thursday, but in new jersey's governor chris christie has vowed to veto any measure. you can see how the same sex debate has grown over the years. you can see the pictures on wbaltv.com. >> the senate leaders said they have addressed the failure to disclose that he worked for shoppers warehouse. there was a committee on ethics during a four-hour hearing. one of the possible sanctions

back to her home town of newark, but as she made her final flight, questions continue. the los angeles county coroner's office confirmed bottles of prescription pills have been found in the hotel room and that they are looking into all possibilities that could have led to her death. >> she could have suffered a heart attack or something, and no matter what medications they are taking, until we run a test on a level to see what was in the system, we are not going to speculate. >> toxicology reports could take up to six weeks to be completed. other factors like drowning it will be looked into. the police department said her body was found to merge in a bag of a one of the staff. >> -- was found submerged in the bathtub by one of her staff. they are planning major events to pay tribute to the hometown girl.

a public memorial is expected to draw thousands of family, friends, and fans, including the mayor of the christian baptist church. by citing not just the city, but across the country -- >> i think not just the city but across the world she is going to be honored. >> including a commemoration a short distance away at the apollo theater, where fans continue to celebrate whitney houston, proving music has the power to transcend. >> the former penn state assistant coach jerry sandusky can now see most of his grandchildren while he awaits his trial on child sex abuse charges. the judge ruled he can see the grandchildren under supervision except for three grandchildren who are in a custody battle. prosecutors sought to keep him indoors after neighbors complained he was watching the children of school playground from his porch.

mountains, maybe a flurry towards morning or a sprinkle of rain will be about it. cloudy skies at 8:00 a.m., and most of the flurries still in the mountains to our west, so we are running a 20% to 30% chance of scattered rain. skies will clear up for midweek. in the morning, maybe a flurry of the spot or two. we will probably see the coldest temperatures on the eastern shore. there are winter weather advisories through the ohio valley and even parts of the southern appalachians, but this system is weakening, and all of this precipitation is starting to fall apart with the exception of some decent rain in the south. they are still getting some moisture of the gulf of mexico, so this will move south of us. high pressure is fairly weak to the north, so the skies will

fairly clear out. we will be watching a separate system but looks like it is going to bring us rain as temperatures day above normal. the skies clear out. quickly the next system rolls in with mild temperatures. this should be all rain on thursday, so valentine's day looks like a generally cloudy day. only a slight risk of morning flurries. evening highs about normal is not a couple of degrees above normal. western maryland has a better chance of snow showers, then it clears up on wednesday. on the eastern shore, milder temperatures. low 50's on wednesday and even milder in ocean city. sunny to partly cloudy skies and generally dry weather through the middle of the week. mid 40's tomorrow. a slight chance of a struggle or fleury. all rain on thursday, but over
