love. 11 news reporter lowell belser joins us live interest skill with a preview -- live in it charlottesville with a preview. >> it is hurry up and wait in the george huguely murder trial. two female juror alternates were dismissed. when i graduate student, the other a research scientist. both were chosen at random through a lottery system. what is interesting about the dismissal is, given all links of the case, the judge told them they are subject to recall it just in case a juror becomes ill. the jury is made up of seven men and five women. 90 minutes into deliberation, the jury had one question about the word "reason" and what that meant. the judge replied "the common meaning," and he told the council to stay close because he

>> newt gingrich, far behind, is trying to connect with voters by focusing on a hot button issue, gas prices. wbatracie potts, wbal-tv 11 news. >> in "session 2012," the senate postponed debate on the governor's same sex marriage bill. senate president mike miller wanted to give members time to draft amendments to the legislation. a committee voted 7-4 to send the measure to the senate floor. the bill barely passed last friday's house vote. any changes to the legislation before the senate will kill the measure. meanwhile, in legislation that would change the way speed cameras operate in construction work zones would limit cameras to hours when i worked is in progress. baltimore county democratic senator says that the areas at 695 and charles street is a prime example.

himself. investigators say the man was a frequent visitor, but are not sure what led to the shooting. about 20 people were in the building at the time. the alleged capitol building a bomb water is back in court this afternoon for a bond hearing. he was arrested friday for the to the attending to detonate a bomb in a suicide attack at the capitol building. he was taken into custody with explosives and an inoperable gun, which had been supplied by an undercover agent. he has been charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction against federal property. if indicted, he could face life in prison. today, christians around the world celebrate ash wednesday. here is the seat in philadelphia. many will go to church to receive ashes on their forehead. it sets the tone to for the entire season of lent.
