deliberations. >> the jury has been deliberating for 8.5 hours, and we have breaking news to tell you about. the judge was meeting with jurors to get a status update. he just had another one at 6:00, and the jury has indicated it would like to deliberate another half hour this evening. that does not mean there will necessarily come up with the verdict, but it does indicate they're making progress in this case. a long day of deliberations for the jury in the george hughley murder trial. randomly selected alternate jurors, women, a graduate students and research scientists were the best, but told they were subject to recall just in case something unforeseen happens to a jury member. given the high-profile surrounded the case, the judge was not want to take any chances with the jury, which consists of seven men and five women. the first action of the day happened 90 minutes into
