this tops years of failed attempts to gain the same legal protection as other married couples. the senate took up the house version of the bill, which passed by the narrowest of margins last week, only after it was amended and several delegates switched their position. whether the bill takes effect may be up to voters. the law will likely be petitioned to referendum in november. but for now, supporters want to celebrate what could be the end of state-sanctioned discrimination. >> delighted that this has passed. we feel like all of his god's children can now share in marriage. >> wonderful to celebrate the diversity of creation. this is a great day for maryland. >> the measure now goes to governor martin o'malley for his signature. a bill-signing ceremony could happen as early as next week. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. the governor released a statement saying --

click on marriage. >> one person has died after being struck by a train. it is not clear what the person was doing on the tracks. the body has not been identified. the fbi is investigating a robbery and shooting at a royal forms in hamilton. police hope somebody will recognize the suspects. a reward is being offered for information in that case. a parkville man might be back in action. police say derek propalis was wearing a virginia state police uniform. he has modified his vehicle to have emergency lights and siren. investigators found other uniforms and weapons at his home and are asking possible victims

to come forward. have of today, we don't any information that indicates he has conducted illegal traffic stops or other illegal activity as a police impersonator. however, because of the extent of the paraphernalia and police equipment that he has, we're concerned that he may have done this. >> he was also picked up in 2008 for similar charges. he was caught with homemade police uniforms tenures earlier and half a dozen guns. >> two more baltimore police officers now face jail time. a jury convicted one man while another pleading guilty to steering crash victims to a majestic water repair in exchange for cash. both could get up to 25 years in

50 degrees outside. we have some showers move into parts of harford county, baltimore county, back into howard county. you'll see some rain as you drive into the baltimore city. it will probably taper off just a little bit. light rain this morning and we could see some thunderstorms later this afternoon. this has all kinds of stuff associated with it. snow on the backside in chicago and milwaukee. cold air coming down from canada. we have warm air coming up the east coast. with the knicks to get you have the showers and thunderstorms. we will not get into the snow but we may have some strong thunderstorms. the risk for severe weather bank just south of baltimore and that may include wind gust over 40

an ultimatum is in the works for the syrian president. the united states and other nations will likely announce a cease-fire and relief into areas hardest hit by the government crackdown. more than 5000 people have been killed. crews are working to put off this massive fire in galveston, texas. an explosion triggered a fire involving two fuel tanks. the fire has been contained. nobody was hurt. no plea from a man accused of leaking classified information. bradley manning did not say whether he wants to be tried by military jury or a judge. he faces 22 counts including theft and fraud. another court session is scheduled for march 15.
