assaulting a patient. kevin porter is charged with attempted rape and false imprisonment. the victim was a patient at a hospital clinic when it porter allegedly attacked her in a stairwell. he will appear in court next month. >> gas prices rise higher and higher. one local gas station owner is saying, enough. jennifer franciotti is live to explain. >> governor martin o'malley and gas tax supporters say the increase in the gas tax will pay for road and public transit improvements. not everybody is buying that. many gas station owners are offering petitions for people to sign. depending on where you fill up, you may of been asked to sign a

this morning with more on the story. >> good morning. hundreds of gas station owners across the state are offering customers a chance to sign a petition for lawmakers to take a stance against the proposed gas tax increase. >> we are trying to give our customers a voice. >> this gas station owner is doing more than just selling gas at his hess gas station in elkridge. he is taking petition signatures from customers against the proposed gas tax increase. >> a lot of people do not even buy anything. they see the sign and they stop and say, "where's the petition? we want to sign this." >> he has gotten 1200 at the elkridge location so far and another 1000 at his station at towson. he said the proposed 6% gas tax increase over a three-year period will hurt his business and his customers. >> they portray this as a jobs bill, that this is going to increase jobs in the state where really, the people that are going to need jobs are the people that are driving their cars, because they got to pay all these extra fees and taxes. >> governor martin o'malley and
