police releasing disinformation just moments ago, calling this a tragic accident that somehow 13- year-old monae turnage was accidentally shot in the chest and died. the folks that were with her buried her body in the alley. saturday night between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., she was at a friend's house with two male juvenile, ages 12 and 13. they were playing with a 22 caliber rifle and somehow turnage was shot in the chest and died inside the home. the two boys took her body outside the home into an alley in the 1600 block of clifton avenue and buried it under some plastic bags. her body was found about 24 hours later by her brother, while he and the rest of her family were searching for her. at this point, there are still a lot of unanswered questions. >> how did this done it in a home? whose gun was it? why was it not secured?

and how did end up in the hands of 12 and 13-year-old children. it is senseless that this young lady lost her life in this unthinkable tragedy. >> the two boys are charged as juvenile with inventory -- involuntary manslaughter. police are also looking into the possibility that these two juvenile had help from an adult. but they could not elaborate. the case is still under investigation. coming up at 6:00 p.m., will hear from turnage's mother and how this has rocked her family. wbal tv 11 news. >> news at this hour of northeast baltimore. rescue crews and paramedics called to a deadly crash involving three vehicles. let's go to roy taylor.

>> this is bellaire road at just north of sinkler lane. about an hour ago, and as to be flipped over and fell on top of another car. there is one fatality at this location. two other people were transported to hospitals, one in very serious condition. right now, police have blocked off all northbound and southbound lanes of bellaire road north of sinkler avenue while they deal with the investigation. >> a cold weather blast for baltimore. this is what it looked like just minutes ago outside the studios at wbal tv. some pretty hefty snowflakes as five counties are under watches and severe weather warnings. this came up pretty quickly. >> we have been in and out of snow showers all day. the main part of this weather system is tracking south of us through virginia. 5 inches of snow in virginia.

testimony in this case is now under way. >> the jury heard from the corner, who examined the bodies of the two men who were killed in the police-involved shooting. both of them were firing into the air to celebrate independence day, but the officers claim that they were the targets. >> the actions of baltimore city police officers james brooks and chris ahearn, were they justified or part of a tragic mistake? a jury is now hearing testimony in the $30 million lawsuit against the officers. the allegations -- wrongful death, assault, excessive force box, and malicious prosecution. it started with shots being fought -- being fired outside of this union hall. as officers investigate, a car started to leave the scene.

the officers opened fire. one man was shot in the back and another was shot in the head. daryl white survived and was shot in hand. the officers fired 25 bullets at the ford taurus that they were trying to -- driving. both officers claimed they were targets, shots are fired at them and they returned fire. daryl white was charged with attempted murder. the court of special appeals overturned the conviction, citing there was no evidence that he touched a weapon. there'll white accused them -- daryl white accuse them of planting evidence. the attorney general answered with why the cover-up? why the plan? because the defendants knew they had a problem. they had killed two people and shot a third. he claimed the officers rushed

to judgment cannot accept responsibility for what they did. attorney james fields represents the two officers and told the jury the suggestion of a conspiracy, a coverup, and planted evidence is nonsense, and these officers know exactly what happened. they had no choice but to do what they did in defense of themselves and others. >> the jury is told this will be a lengthy trial. it is expected to last two to three weeks. >> barry, thank you. tomorrow is the biggest day in the republican race for the white house. it is super tuesday. voters will be heading to the polls. steve handelsman has the commitment 2012 update. >> mitt romney was engaged sheet steel plant in canton, ohio. he is focused on jobs. >> during this campaign, there is been discussion about all sorts of issues and i keep

>> a group of kent county medical students are recovering from smoke inhalation after one student lit a fire on a school bus. according to fire officials, the student wrote -- student with the road flare, causing severe damage to the bus and sending about seven kids to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation treatment. school administrators are investigating, as well as fire and police officials. now to restore that we broke last night at 11:00 p.m. a 3-year-old girl left behind at a chuck e. cheese in bellaire. her parents were nowhere to be found. they responded to calls at about 8:30 p.m. sunday night and waited about an hour before contacting sleepy's. a -- contacting sleepy's. it was not until after our story aired the last night that the harford county sheriff's office received calls from the parents. each member of the family

thought someone else had harmony. we are told no charges will be filed. alert,onight's medical just six out of 10 adults over 50 get screen for colon cancer, as recommended by the current guidelines. there are now ruch new recommendations to increase that number. experts now recommend doctors treat each patient on an individual basis. those who are not considered high risk for colon cancer should get a colonoscopy at age 50. they can wait 10 years if the results are negative before they have to get another test. the other groups should start screaming at age 40, or 10 years number than the age of the next affected relative was diagnosed. a certain type of cancer can be vague and hard to spot. what is key with it -- with its treatment is correct diagnosis and timely treatment.

with tornadoes began springing up everywhere. every that's that had already been devastated -- areas that had already been devastated by tornadoes last year were hit again. in north alabama, maryland native patricia ryan was working with her church group. >> we were down there working with people to clean up what happened 10 months ago. then on friday of this past week, we were doing our work at a few sites in the area. we have a large group. we heard the tornadoes sirens. it was frightening, because it was our first experience being in those weather conditions. we are all from maryland and west virginia, the team i am working with. we had not experienced tornadoes before. but it gave us a new perspective. it is one thing to work on
