suspended in connection with the case. jennifer franciotti is live this morning with more details. >> good morning. sources say the gun used to kill the 13-year-old girl was found in a baltimore officer's personal car. he may have had relationships with one of the suspects relatives. monae turnage's body was found this weekend. two boys were charged with involuntary manslaughter. there were playing with the gun which was accidently shot in the chest. the family questioned that scenario. the boys hid the girl. a police officer has been suspended in the wake of the shooting and the family is furious. >> if you have a police officer

that is covered up a crime and murder, then something is wrong. >> ballistic tests are still on the way. it is not clear how the boys got the gun or who the gun belongs to. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> police officers confirmed they have passed a no-confidence vote on john leopold and police chief. john leopold was indicted last friday. there were allegations he misused his police security. the vote was called for before that indictment. the community is encouraged to call for leopold and the police chief to leave office. murder charges have been dismissed against two doctors.

this is against dr. steven brigham and nicola riley. they were charged under a new maryland law. >> state lawmakers should consider raising taxes on tobacco products. leaders will gather in favor of a tobacco bill. the tax would increase on cigars. a bill could increase the tax on cigarettes. a doomsday budget in annapolis of $800 million in cuts. this is considered an alternative to the governor's plan. there will extend the sales tax of some 30 different services including gym memberships.

it was the next day when her brother found her body in an alley near their home. police charged two boys with involuntary manslaughter. they said that they were playing with a row gone when she was accidentally shot in the chest. the family question that scenario because the boys allegedly hid her body instead of calling for an ambulance. >> we suspected that there was an adult involved. those kids were 12 and 13 years old. somebody had to coach them and tell them. as we found out, they did. >> police suspended an officer on tuesday for his conduct in the wake of the shooting. the officer was not there when monae was shot. the gun the kilter was found in his car. the circumstances of her death or companiding her death.

why the boys would not automatically call 911 when the gun went off? >> you did not intend that consequence. so you try to remove yourself from the scene and do anything you can in your power to pretend like it did not happen. >> according to officials, the adult who was home at the time did not call 911. the family believes he turned to an off-duty police officer for help. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. a boy is killed and his mother injured after another apparent accidental shooting. according to state police, shanice kellam woke up after being shot only to find her son with a gunshot wound to the chest. the boy had been playing with his father's handgun which was

kept in the bedroom. police are investigating a crash in queen anne's county. a porsche collided with a tractor-trailer on route 213. the front of the porsche was completely destroyed. the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. >> civil citations to the mother and brother of a teenager killed in a runway crash. the accident happened in january. four people died in the crash. police say alcohol was applied to the minors just prior to the crash. the owner of the plumbing company refuses to speak with the i-team about allegations of unfair practices involving his business.
