they were charged under a new law that allows prosecutors to pursue murder charges in the death of a fetus. a man has admitted to shooting and killing a teenager during an attempted robbery. he pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges in the shooting death of a 19-year-old back on september 6. he initially said that it was wallace who tried to rob him. a man will spend 20 years behind bars for his role to smuggle heroin into baltimore. johnson arranged for the heroin by members of the ship's crew. he was one of five people arrested while purchasing $4,000 worth of the drugs in the parking lot of walmart. >> a police officer is suspended

and accused of being involved in the tragic shooting death of a girl. jennifer franciotti has more. >> they want to know why the gun may have been found in his car. sources say the gun used to kill the 13-year-old girl was found in a baltimore city police officer's personal car. her body was found in a trash bag. they charge two boys with involuntary manslaughter. they say they're playing with a rebel, when she was accidentally shot in the chest -- they say she was playing with a replica of an ak-47. an officer has been suspended and the family is furious. >> if you have a police officer that is covering up a crime and a murder, then something is

>> well, i can't think right now. it's messed up. >> edith turnage is having trouble processing the latest twist in her daughter monae's death. questions about what an off- duty police officer did or didn't do after the 13-year-old was killed by gunshot. family last saw monae on saturday when she left to go skating with friends. it was the next day when her brother found her body under a pile of trash bags in an alley near their home. monday, police charged two boys with involuntary manslaughter, telling 11 news that monae and her friends were playing with an ak-47 replica when she was accidentally shot in the chest. the family questioned that scenario because the boys allegedly hid monae's body instead of calling for an ambulance. >> we kind of suspected from the beginning that there were an adult involved. those kids is 12 and 13 years old. they would not have known what to do. somebody had to coach them and tell them. and now as we find out, they did. >> on tuesday, baltimore city

police suspended an officer for his conduct in the wake of the shooting. investigators say the officer was not there when monae was shot. but sources tell 11 news that the gun that killed monae was found in his car. the circumstances of her death are compounding her family's grief. we asked a child psychologist to address their biggest question -- why the two boys would not automatically call 911 when the gun went off? >> natural to feel like you want to diminish, because you really didn't intend that consequence. so you try to remove yourself from the scene and do anything you can in your power to pretend like it did not happen. >> right now they are waiting for ballistics tests to come back. jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> a boy is killed and his mother injured after another apparent accidental shooting.

police say shanice kellam woke up after being shot only to find her son with a gunshot wound to the chest. the boy had been playing with his father's handgun which was kept in the bedroom. a man was killed in queenstown county. sky team 11 was over the scene on tuesday after a porsche driven by a man collided head-on with a tractor-trailer. the driver of the tractor- trailer was treated for minor injuries. >> a pair of bills will be introduced that would raise the tax on tobacco products. one bill would increase the tax on cigar and smoke was products. a committee will hear a bill still increase the tax on a pack of cigarettes from $2 to $3.
