>> lisa robinson, wbal-tv 11 news. >> instead of hitting the beach for spring break, several college students are helping people affected by those deadly tornadoes. more than 80 students from purdue university decided to spend their break cleaning up debris and helping residents in a small indiana town that was f of the hardest hit. most of them said they had never seen tornado damage up close. >> taking time off from their spring break to help others predict to help others to really need help. -- to help others who really need help. >> it is that time of year when most of the nation becomes vulnerable to severe storms. for the time being, there are just some light showers moving through our area. we have had a couple of sprinkles but nothing measurable so far, just a trace.

you can see the light showers stretches from new england for parts of pennsylvania and western maryland. a couple of showers now going over to the eastern shore. we will have to keep an eye on some of the activity that could be here late tomorrow. it is still unseasonably mild, the high today about 20 degrees warmer than normal -- warmer than normal. look at the record high, scorching 86 degrees on march 12 back in 1990. 4.4 inches of snow on this day in 1968. boston college is 56 late this evening, 62 in new york, 59 with thunderstorms approaching in northern ohio around cleveland. 60 down in montgomery county. hagerstown a 61 degrees. scattered showers that move through early tonight will be followed by another burst of showers and maybe some scattered sprinkles in the area in the

morning. i think we'll see some sun tomorrow. morning temperatures in the 50's, what we normally expect during an afternoon high temperature this part of the year. mild air all the way up into new england. a strong storm in the pacific northwest will not impact us immediately. we have weaker systems tracking through here. on wednesday we expect the skies to clear nicely. it will be a beautiful wednesday, and on thursday, dry during the daylight hours. showers and the great lakes will not get here until much later than thursday night. 71-76 tomorrow, scattered showers and a 30% chance of a thunderstorm. the risk of a late a thunderstorm crossing the bay. only a 20% chance for scattered showers and announced tomorrow, and then bright sunshine for wednesday.
