if they cross the line. >> a baltimore police officer is on his way to prison for running a drug trafficking ring. that is our big story tonight. >> former baltimore city police officer daniel redd will likely step -- serve 20 years in prison for selling drugs out of a police station parking lot. >> and the investigation and to former officer daniel redd started with a tip received last year. >> the officer was an armed drug dealer. he will suffer the consequences. >> the consequences will likely be 20 years in prison. he has pled guilty to possession with intent to sell and conspiring to sell drugs while on the job from january to june of last year.

he was at times in uniform and carrying his service weapon as he sold heroin. >> an egregious violation of the public trust. this is a baltimore police department led investigation. we identified the problem cut rectify the problem. we partnered with our federal authorities. >> it included wiretapped phone conversations. in one conversation, he referred to the police station to meet up location as the district. he had been working as a police officer for 17 years. >> i do think it is cause for concern. there ought to be some recognition that the police department is turning the corner in terms of dealing with corruption. it will be a schism -- a significant deterrent and the future. >> u.s. attorney points to this

recovering tonight after being robbed and beaten in her home. police said it happens in the afternoon thursday in northeast baltimore. >> a very nice lady. >> finding out an elderly neighbor was attacked and robbed is a very disturbing reality. according to police, and 84- year-old woman was gardening in her backyard when she was approached by a suspect arm to the gun. >> the guy went into her back door. he went inside and he pulled the gun on her. he asked for money and then he hit her, and you know, she fell down. >> yesterday, detectives worked out in the area. they flooded the immediate neighborhood, looking for witnesses. >> police said the victim was taken to an area hospital with serious, but non-life-

threatening injuries. they have since stepped up patrols in the neighborhood. police say they have -- they're looking into the possibility that the suspect may have been involved in other robberies. >> detectives are looking into the possibility. we want to know if this individual is involved in more than this and to that. >> for folks live in this neighborhood, not on the suspect is still all there is very unsettling. >> it makes you very uncomfortable. i almost did not talk to you. if it was broad like -- it was broad daylight. >> we tried to contact a victim and her family, but were unsuccessful. anyone with information should call baltimore city police at this number. >> baltimore county investigators are concerned that there could be more victims in the sexual abuse case. rahn freeland is accused of using facebook to solicit sex from miners using -- sex

from minors. police are asking any other potential the victims to come forward by calling this number. a howard county woman is indicted on 69 counts of animal cruelty charges. among them, aggravated -- she was taken into custody yesterday. she is being held in connection with the death of 40 animals. if convicted, she could face up to three years in prison or a fine of up to $5,000 for each account. the property and manager alerted police after becoming concerned about a strong odor. there is another effort to push anne arundel county executive salvador. it comes from the aclu. -- out the door. it comes from the aclu.

manning will not get the chance to take sworn statements from eight people before his trial. a military judge has ruled that the attorneys cannot take statements from the individuals who reviewed the information before the trial, but may be able to interview them later. he is accused of leaking military secret information to the website the private is due back in court sometime next month. the u.s. soldier accused of killing 16 of 10 civilians has been identified as 38-year-old robert bale. he will be detailed at fort leavenworth kansas. present karzei accused the u.s. of failing to cooperate and is demanding the u.s. pulled troops out of afghan villages. president obama spoke with president karzei this morning, but officials said it is unlikely that the u.s. will agree to an early withdrawal. robert bale is an 11-year

was earlier this week. we were talking 25 or 30 degrees warmer than normal. today, we were talking about nine degrees warmer than normal. additionally, we made it to 63 degrees at the airport on the inner harbor. 85 the record high. 14 degrees is the record low. we have seen some scattered showers and thunderstorms passing south of us. strong storms have been down around a virginia beach. you can see the general trend is to take the showers and cloud cover to the south and east of us. for a brief period of time, the sky will clear. 54 at the airport, a 50 on the beach at ocean city, 59 in westminster. it is most likely that by morning, we will be able to get some temperatures down into the 40's.

clouds are likely to form in spots tomorrow morning. perhaps even a little drizzle. it might look kind of cloudy early on, but we will see some sunshine tomorrow. the morning could be kind of cloud. 54 to 44 at the general temperature early on. this front has stalled and is beginning to wash out. temperatures will be a couple degrees above where we were today. high pressure into new england will push some cooler air back down the coast for sunday. we are right on the edge of that and that is where we will be all weekend long. in the middle of the country, some are continuing. temperatures are in the 80's. most of that warm weather will stick to our south and west. our temperatures will be quite a bit above normal.
