working in the two lanes closed to traffic. a driver veered into the construction zone, hit jobes, and took off. police believed the car has headlight damage. said his lege shattered. >> it is a big guy. i'm sure if the was somebody that was my height or shorter, they would have been run over and would not have made it. >> jobes is listed in fair condition. towns says he loves his construction job and was named employee of the month on friday just hours before the accident. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> a boy is recovering after he was hit by a car in west baltimore. the female driver took off after hitting the boy on sunday

evening. the boy was rushed to hospital possibly suffering a broken leg. the driver is now in custody. she has several outstanding warrants. a man died after injuries he sustained in an accident. police say joshua aversano was not in a crosswalk when he was hit by a car on friday evening. he was flown to shock trauma and he died on saturday. police decided he was at fault. there are no charges pending against the driver. >> jury selection it is a scheduled to begin. a brother is accused of killing his brother. the brothers had a history of violent arguments.

one brother implicated the other in a theft at a mall, prosecutors believe. 75% of students earned a diploma in four years. this was an increase of 4%. new york and tennessee saw the most significant improvements. >> some holiday hoopla led to an least 10 kids in handcuffs -- disorderly conduct to assault. this happen for at st. patrick's day celebrations in the downtown area. when you cannot get kids to eat healthy stuff, which held the trees are the lesser of evils?

resort. crews began around $2 a night. it has a prime location, close to times square and the theater district. occupy protesters go to jail for the first time in week. hundreds of demonstrators converged for a march on sunday. police say they had to clear out those who set up tents and they carted away at least a dozen protesters. >> saturday took a violent turn 45 teenagers. gunfire broke out during the festivities downtown. a boy was shot in the chest and a girl was shot in the leg. police expect all five victims to survive.

shootings this weekend. a woman shot her boyfriend in the leg. he is expected to recover. another investigation began when the alleged victim wafted to a hospital suffering from gunshot wound. officers were called to cummings 16-year-t and they found a old with a gunshot wound. >> there was a public hearing on sunday evening for the major. he was killed in afghanistan last month. he was just 48 years old. 10:30 will be the open funeral service.
