month. many of the protesters wore hooded sweatshirts in solidarity for the victim. >> this is something i have to do. i just wanted to be a part of a movement that meant a lot to this world and i want to see is all come together. vet and i knowm how it is when you are treated different. >> similar rallies were held in cities all across the country. they call for the rest of the accused shooter. ben cardin is calling for an end for racial profiling. he's seduced a bill that would attempt to put an end to racial profiling. he said there is a greater demand for justice.

>> this is not a smart use of resources. to say that you cannot use racial profiling -- >> it would end racial profiling what repercussions for those found guilty of doing it. >> a legal setback for twin brothers accused of setting a dog gunfire. -- a dog on fire. >> jury selection was slated to begin yesterday. instead, the judge ruled on some motions, and jury selection was delayed. in may of 2009, twin brothers travers and tremayne johnson, then 17 years old, are accused of setting a 2-year-old pit bull, later named phoenix, on fire. phoenix died several days later. the twins were put on trial in february of 2011. -- 2001. prosecutors relied on crime- camera surveillance video to identify the twins as well as

taped conversations. but it ended in a mistrial. monday, motions were made to throw out the video evidence in this case as well as the twins' clothing that supposedly contained a questionable liguid. both motions were denied. this retrial was scheduled and delayed three times in 2011. animal activists are still putting a positive spin on the case despite the delay. >> we need to see this through to a logical conclusion, whatever that may happen to be. and we're very grateful to the things that have happened over this three-year period of time that have moved in a positive direction. >> jury selection is scheduled to begin tomorrow. the trial is expected to last through april 5. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. despite protests, police chief james teare did comply with a subpoena to show up at a council meeting. .e didn't have much to say he said speaking out could

the area of high pressure in control on the east coast. clear skies. last night the wind stayed up a little bit. if they had calmed down, the temperatures would have tanked. but the wind did stay up a little bit. before sunrise, will probably get the temperatures to drop off a few more degrees. 34 degrees at the airport. in the northern suburbs, it did manage to drop into the 20's. 29 in taneytown. 30 degrees in rising sun. lots of sunshine today. it will be a little bit on the cool side. high temperature between 52 and 57. it will warm up tomorrow. close to 70 on wednesday. there'll be some scattered thunderstorms. we have a 30% chance on that. it will cool off on thursday and friday. a chance for some rain on

shooting in northeast baltimore that left one man dead. this happened there pioneer drive. he was pronounced dead moments later. that overnight murder in addition to another where a man was gunned down on his front porch. he was shot after answering the door bell on monday. the victim died at the hospital. nearly three dozen robbery suspects were picked up over the weekend. police officials say mass arrests are not the only thing they are doing about armed robberies. they plan to me with the community. >> we will be holding people accountable. we will be meeting with community groups trying to educate them on how to be a better witness.

girl: i want to tell you about my friend. his name is ben. ben learned about a homeless boy who had an infected tooth, and the boy died. that made ben really sad. he wrote a law so every kid can see a dentist. we have special dental van that goes from school to school. he even helps make sure we learn how to brush our teeth. he's my friend, ben. i hope he's your friend, too. i'm ben cardin, and i approved this message.
