>> good evening, i'm deborah weiner. first the stabbing and less than one week later, police inarar find them -- ann rundle find themselves investigating a murderle. this morning and sheldon is live at the scene. >> deb, between that stabbing and this morning's deadly shooting, people in this neighborhood say they're frustrated and concerned about the recent spike in crime. police have not released investigation about the latest information. all they're saying is the body of a 46-year-old man was found laying here in this residential neighborhood.

dorian is grieving the death of her boy frapped stabbed to death. >> i try to stay strong. i got three kids. i try to stay strong. >> not even a week later, there's another murder in the same neighborhood. >> i heard cars beating off and got to the door. and there was something laid outside and i called 911. >> when police arrived in the 200 block of oliver avenue, they found his 46-year-old body laying in the street. he was shot in the upper body. police have not released much more information. dorian and other neighbors are rethinking they're safety. >> it makes me feel creepy. it's like i don't want to do nothing. i don't even want to send the kids to school. i want to stand in the bus stop with them. be there when i get home. >> the city's moving into the county, activities. bringing them into the county and that's causing these

winchester, heaviest rain now. all of this stuff moving to the east and southeast and will be contending with much of the night tonight. you know what, it all go as way by tomorrow. little different situation. i will bring you details on what the week ahead forecast is in a few minutes. >> john, thank you. new tonight, police busy investigating two evening shootings. we're told the first happened near east 22nd and kennedy avenue. a man was shot multiple times, rushed to johns hopkins. no word on his condition. second shooting happened in the 600 block of george street. one man injured. police are not releasing any other information. a man show up to a local hospital this evening after being shot. police tell us the shooting happened in the 5300 block of gift avenue and somebody rushed the man to the hospital. police are not releasing the victim's name none word yet on his condition. right now there's a $2,000 reward being offered for information about that hit and run that killed a townsend university student. the crash happened early yesterday morning at the intersection of washington avenue and york road.

police say 20-year-old ryan bailey was walking northbound on york road when he was hit by a car and he died it scene. students tell us they planned a vigil for tomorrow evening. the city of baltimore was abuzz. wondering who bought that winning mega millions ticket friday. the winner bought the lucky ticket at the 7/11 on millford road. lottery officials say they're ready to process the winning claim whenever the person decides to come forward. >> it was a quick pick and there was only one ticket purchased by the player at that time. >> the 7/11 will get $100,000 for selling that winning ticket twofment other winning tickets sold in illinois and kansas. winners will share the $640 million jackpot. a week before florida grand jury begins looking into the shooting death of trayvon martin, those demanding an immediate arrest of shooter george zimmerman are keeping up the pressure.

>> stranded at sea, the coast guard stepped in trying to get a team of sailors to safety. mess yargee is making it hard tonight. dave gutierrez has more on the rescue effort. >> 400 miles off the coast of california, the coast guard dropped medical supplies trying to rescue more than a dozen people stranded at sea while competing in the clipper around the world yacht race. portions of the trip chronicled on their website. four sailors were hurt when a massive wave smashed into their boat, breaking its steering wheel. one crew member from australia. three from from britain, including this man, who described the race's challenges on its website before they sell sail. >> look forward to showers and cold beers. >> the western australia was one of 10 boats in the 11-month race

that began in britain and took sailors to south africa, -- south america, africa, australia and china. and then on the way to san francisco, severe weather struck. >> wind-driven wave on top of the swell and went over the back of the boat. the back of the boat, the eye took the hit with 25 to 30 feet. >> meteorologists say there were hurricane-force wind gusts. >> this was another one in a long line of systems that has been battering the west coast. >> the coast guard sprang into action. late saturday a helicopter reached the yacht and also ran into rough weather and had to turn back. >> they dropped some medical supplies to the vessel but were not able to complete the jump because of the weather. >> tonight there are questions about whether the mostly amateur crew should have taken another course. >> the fact is the boat was sailing straight downwind, the most dangerous point of sailing and they got out of control. >> now the coast guard is waiting for the weather to

>> good evening. i'm brett hollander. today in sarasota, florida, it was the orioles grapefruit league finale. opening day 2012 this friday in downtown baltimore, believe it or not. today o's hosting tampa bay rays at ed smith stadium. jg harding has the banged-up shoulder. apparently healthy and well now. this ball absolutely launched. and it was not a good final spring for the orioles pitching today. the southpaw missed in the top of the third and desmond jennings with the solo shot. rays grab 2-1 lead but jennings wasn't finished. the very next inning off chen once again. this one with three on. grand slam. rays now up 6-1. chen goes five innings. three home runs. birds hit four home runs including two by j.j. hardy.
