he and the governor have been on opposing sides of the session. the senator opposed the same-sex bill. the governor brought in prince george's preachers. the governor endorsed ben cardin for the u.s. senate. anthony mews ran against ben cardin in the primary. >> it makes it to the senate floor it will be approved on the floor. we still have some persuading to do on the senate committee. it is their job to ask the tough questions and make sure the consumers are safeguarded against any sort of potential increase over time. >> at least six votes are needed to send the bill to the senate floor. the vote count stands at five and senator mews is considered a swing vote. >> an already registered sex offender was caught on surveillance video trying to videotape a woman using the restroom at a panera bread in

anne arundel county. michael nicholas villa put a cell phone under the stock. this is not the first time. the first incident reported on march 5. michael nicholas villa faces peeping tom charges. he is listed as a third degree offender with no fixed address. >> it is day four of the retrial of twin brothers accused of setting up people on fire. in may 2009. >> jurors watched the tape testimony. one of the witnesses refuse to testify second time, receiving jail time. we have the latest. >> the brothers' first trial ended in 2011 in a hung jury. this new trial started last week. the prosecution got through to witnesses and part of a third. wednesday was the fourth day of testimony in the retrial of twin brothers travers and tremayne johnson, accused of setting a pebble later named phoenix on

fire. -- a pit bull later in phoenix on fire. a witness seemed reluctant to testify. on cross-examination he told defense attorneys he made up the story he told police about travers and tremayne johnson's involvement to get leniency for he and his girlfriend on unrelated drug and gun charges. attorney said, you have to get yourself out of trouble and the witness said yes. the witness from -- refused to testify and was sentenced to six months in jail for criminal contempt. prosecutors showed the jury of video of the testimony from the twins' first trial. in it she admits to witnessing that trial and saw the men running from the scene and testified seeing what drew her

attention was, "a lot of smoke, a lot of fire, and la." she did not come forward until she saw flares offering award -- an award, the prosecutor said. in the afternoon, prosecutors showed the surveillance video attorneys tried to get thrown out. a police sergeant who worked the case took jurors through the video, pointing out men interacting with and kicking a dog and a dog running from the alley on fire. he testified he was able to identify the man as travers and tremayne johnson from previous encounters with them in the neighborhood. prosecutors did not finish going through the video today. the police sergeant -- the trial resumes tomorrow morning. >> four new reasons to shop

we are picking up some thunderstorm activity. it is south of baltimore. across the mountains into kentucky. all that will stay south of us. the skies have started to clear. if you're watching south of baltimore, you have some high and then clouds. it will be a beautiful sunset and you will see mostly beautiful skies. the temperatures will fall off quickly as we head toward 9:00 p.m. or 10:00 p.m. the winds have shifted to the west and northwest behind that front. we are seeing some colder come in from the north. it is 10 degrees cooler in parkton. that cool air will sink down toward baltimore. mostly clear skies and tomorrow, when you wake up, kind of chilly. during the day tomorrow, we will watch the storm system moved across this part of the country
