learned how to do stuff like that. >> that's a cool song. >> i actually did do hee haw honeys in 1978. >> were those the people who popped out of the field? >> yeah, but it was a spinoff from that. it was a sitcom. i literally spent about a year down in nashville. every country star, every huge country star -- dolly, willie, everybody, they all came on and we had scenes with them. it was just like i was in hog heaven, so to speak. nicest people in the world. and they taught me courage. you know? they don't have to warm up, do all kinds of things. they just show up and then they play. >> i love it. every time we have someone here from the country world, by the way, they come to play. they are so polite. they love to -- they just enjoy themselves. >> well i don't sing professional anymore as you know and there's an example of why. what was great idea, for sheer genius. you missed a big week here. sarah palin was here. ryan seacrest yesterday.

and values. >> i ran into her in the stairwell. i said excuse me. i knew that it was her. she's very frail in person. tiny little thing. she didn't even look up and she was -- so i didn't actually have a chance to say hello to her or anything. but i sensed first of all her voice. she was very nervous. you could tell that. there's this desperation you can sense. lot of jokes and everything. i'll make a joke about myself which is this -- i don't know anybody that wants to see somebody's breasts after 14 children. i mean i've had two and you don't want to see mine. you know what i mean? so i just -- there's a sadness about it. there's a heartbreak about it that is -- and i don't know. i don't think she ever wanted to go on assistance but now she has to and you got let your pride go, your kids have to eat. >> she did that reality show. doing this thing called dial-a-celebrity -- >> dial-a-star. >> you pay per minute just to talk to the person.

i know she's trying to raise money for all those kids and i know she's got a lot to raise but she said she was getting thousands upon thousands of death threats. i mean that was weird. >> yeah. >> i don't know what the truth is. >> it probably seems like it -- i've had a couple. it seems like thousands when it's you. you know, that's the thing. when you're at the center of that storm, that's all you can see. other people go, yeah, i saw nadya suleman and they go on with their day. the hardest thing to do is not look, not listen. this is going to upset you. we're just saying before we start. a woman named samantha brick, 41. she's a columnist for "the daily mail." she wrote a column talking about how pretty she is and why other women hate her because she's so beautiful. there she is. we didn't show the most flattering picture. she's constantly receiving free champagne and wine she says -- >> does she work here? just kidding. >> when she walks down the street she gets gifts, flowers. she says she's never been asked to be a bridesmaid among friends because she's just too pretty.

>> take attention away from the bride. we haven't seen her friends, so in fairness -- i don't know. i think it was it was a universal turnoff from everybody that's watched this. first of all, there's no modesty involved at all. to me someone like angelina jolie who is one of the most beautiful women in the world you can't even imagine her saying such things. so when she talks like that it is so immodest and she really is -- i don't think she's a beautiful woman. she may be -- she's attractive, but let's be honest. she's not a drop-dead beautiful woman by today's beauty standards. >> plus, let's pretend -- >> they're probably going to cream me for that but that's my personal opinion. >> even if she were, nobody cares about beautiful people's problems really. we don't. they have too much going for them. i'm sorry you get too much champagne! i mean -- don't you get sick of really pretty people complaining?

♪ everyone has a moment that changes their life ♪ >> it is time to meet our newest "everyone has a story" contest winner. >> before we meet her, let's listen to her mother who wrote to us about her daughter's struggle with a hip disorder called slipped capital femoral epiphysis. >> my daughter rehian is only 13 but an inspiration to her entire community. horses are her passion. she's ridden since she was 4 and in the past few years has become quite competitive but on august 18, 2010, with family piling out of the car, i heard a

blood-chilling scream that stopped me in my tracks. she had been experiencing some pain in her hip and she had tripped. her hip was broken and required surgery to put her back together. doctors in the er told her she had a slipped capital femoral epiphysis. they told her she would never run, or ride a horse again. she would walk with a limp for the rest of her life. as tears streamed down her face i knew she would fiercely fight those heartbreaking words. rather than accept her surgery as the end to her competitive riding career, she saw it as the catalyst for a new beginning, committing herself to three months on crutches, one month learning to walk again, and over 1,000 hours of physical therapy. by february 2011 she was able to start riding. but the complications from the injury were starting. her hip joint was hardly receiving any blood. slowly starting to deteriorate. the next few months her hip pain lessened but the x-rays were not good.

in june we were sent to an orthopedic hip specialist. thankfully he told us her necrosis had stopped. rehian had a successful show season but it soon became apparent she'd lost mobility and internal rotation to her hip. to equalize the rotation in both hips she had a second round of surgery. within three weeks she was riding again. people often comment how she is always smiling and positive. never once did anyone hear how hard it's been. her dream is to go to the olympics. with her determination and positive attitude, there's no doubt. >> they're here. your sister jalen? and her brother tyler and dad john. you are a young, beautiful girl. what did you think when the doctors told you you would never not just ride horses again but even walk well or be able to

play basketball or run? >> it was really hard to hear that, especially like because it hurt a lot and the pain. like that night was kind of hard. >> what did you say to your daughter when she's in that kind of pain and has just heard devastating news like that? >> i said it's going to be okay. and i'll never forget the moment she looked at me when they said that and the tears just started and then i started crying and i just gave her a hug and i said it will be okay. >> sometimes when doctors say to you, you're not going to do, a, b, c, you believe them, they're the doctor. why didn't you believe what the doctor said? >> as her parent, i knew how much she loved riding and so your mind works so fast. in my mind i remember thinking, no, that's not true, that's not true, that's not true. she's going to -- she's not going to listen to that. >> your daughter's made of tough stuff. she really is.

>> i remember after leaving the hospital it was about midnight or 1:00 and i just went home and i think i spent until 4:00 in the morning looking up everything there was about it. >> never heard of anything before this. >> never. i made a decision late that night that she was either going to have the type of surgery we needed to get done or we were taking her to boston. >> what's interesting, after you had the surgery and you were still experiencing pain, there was a second surgery and you raised your hand and said i want to have that. >> yeah. i couldn't ride as well as i used to before the surgery and that was like a big setback to still being able to ride but not get where i wanted to go. so i decided to have the bigger surgery. >> this is all you've ever wanted in your whole life. right? >> yeah. >> were you guys real supportive of your sister through this whole thing? >> yeah, definitely. >> well, it's a wonderful story of hope. >> it is. >> so many of the stories we do are real tough stories to tell. this one gives people a lot of hope. when we come back --

atlanta only at 67. with this system moving through and the clouds and the rain we've had, it has cooled the air a bit. saturday, dry here across the east. a few showers as the system moves to the east across the middle of the country, right into the heartland. could see isolated thunderstorms, as well. the heat will remain across the deep south, back into the desert southwest. phoenix at 90. only 49 in billings. by easter sunday, looking pretty quiet across much of the country. showers expected around the u.p. of michigan. ohio, as well. 62 and dry in new york and a little rain working its way back into the texas area. monday, showers in the interior northeast and rain in seattle and portland and northern california. the big cooldown comes tuesday and wednesday east of the rockies. temperatures drop quite a bit. we'll start out in these areas in the 30s and warm up to about
