[captioning made possible by constellation energy group] >> we begin with breaking news. baltimore county firefighters are on the scene of the two- alarm fire. it is happening now. three houses are involved. people are reported trapped. we have a crew on the way and will bring you an update as soon as we have more information. our other big story tonight is about the rescue mission. the leaders vow the work will go on. sheldon dutes joins us to explain. >> the building that burned down was part of the rescue mission that helps those who struggle with drug and alcohol addiction. no one was hurt in the fire. there is a setback with the

building being burned down. organizers plan to continue to service elsewhere in the community. take a look at the flames from last night's fire. the building got burned down. the flames could be seen from miles away as firefighters battled the fire in westminster. the call came in around 9:45 last night. we're told about 100 firefighters responded to put out the flames. no one was hurt. fire crews were on the scene well into the morning. it housed items for the area. this is where men worked during the rehabilitation process. everyone in the committee is devastated by the fire. a lot of people say it was an iconic sight to see from the road. some say it is fitting the building burned down on good friday. >> there is also hope. one things that came to my mind is that it is good friday. friday is here, but sunday is

coming. we celebrate the resurrection of jesus. we will celebrate the resurrection of what god will do in this case. we will bring beauty from ashes. but the rescue mission says the fire caused about $500,000 in damage. investigators are still trying to find out what sparked the blaze. >> more fire news. baltimore city firefighters are searching for the cause of a fire in northwest that started just before noon at a store on northwest avenue. the fire was on the second floor of the building which was occupied. the firefighters were able to get a fire under control. no one was hurt. the baltimore city fire museum held an open house today. many worry the building may be sold by the city. the historic building is the old engine house. it is among 15 historic sites officials are considering selling or leasing to raise money.

that has members of the association that runs the museum worry. -- worried. >> with the cuts in the budgets, it does not bode well for the members and citizens of baltimore. the fire department is stretched. you need the men and women there. you need them to fight the fire when there is fire. >> the list of historic sites the city is considering selling includes the tower, the war memorial building, and the civil war museum. now to session 2012. maryland lawmakers are holding an unusual weekend session to catch up. progress is reported of budget negotiations that will impact your bottom line. david collins even found some statehouse shenanigans as lawmakers worked feverishly to get the job done before the monday midnight deadline. >> this unusual weekend session

included work on banning of arsenic in chicken feed and expanding gaining in maryland. between sessions, they managed to resume budget negotiations. they are close to an agreement. they agreed to shift the cost of teacher pensions to the county over four years. it will be 100% the final year. how to offset the costs is still being discussed today agreed to accept the house proposal raising income taxes on those warning -- earning $100,000 or more. they are still discussing how much to reduce exemptions. a standoff developed between the house and senate over the governors wind energy legislation. it is currently held the senate finance committee. prince george's county senator is considered the swing vote on the committee. according to his colleague, the house is holding up legislation he sponsored to pressure him into voting for the wind energy bill.

he has amendments he was planning to offer better now on the senate floor. he rose time and time again asking for the same thing. " i do have amendments of like to have considered. >> the senator denied his holding house bills hostage to send a message she will not be pressured into ago. he seemed reluctant to talk about it. the suspect the house is holding up your bills to force a vote on your part for the governors when bill? >> no, why would you ask that? >> senator muse ask for so many that a house member jokingly said to cut him off. >> you are holding onto a lot of house bills because you are taking the stand he will not be pushed around. >> let me see what works out. we have a number of bills i am concerned with. i am a man named -- i am amending some of those.

zoo in baltimore. it features scavenger hunts, games, and crafts. a special visit from a huge giant rabbits. >> it is a lot of fun for the kids. they get to the egg hunt, face painting, crafts. they love doing that. they love finding the eggs and turning them enterprises. >> the event continues tomorrow from 10:00 until 2:00. it is street -- it is free with zoo admission. the kids went to a free easter egg hunt at twin oak park posted by the church. easter participants took off in every direction and for good reason. some of the eggs had impressive prizes inside. >> some of them are getting haircuts, out its, ipads, jellybeans. it is the full spectrum. it is an exciting day for the parents and children to relax

and enjoy themselves. >> a great day indeed. children from all over the city cannot to the event. some say easter is a time for new beginnings. for one little bunny, is a second chance. the annapolis fire department received a call this morning about a trapped animal. the crew found an animal trap in the team make -- in the fence and to get back to the fire station. they contacted an animal rescue groups to take the bunny. just in time for tomorrow. how is is looking? >> it is looking great. tomorrow morning at sunrise, it could be nippy. tomorrow will be very much like today with minor adjustments. we will talk about that next. look at the blue sky in ocean city. the sun is getting lower. that is our view on the boardwalk.

>> let's take a look at the doppler radar. there are some scattered showers in new england. that will play a role in our weather early next week, but not this weekend. it is helping to contribute to the wind. we have our system to the west producing rain. this initial batch of moisture is going to head to the northeast. it should travel north of us tomorrow. we may pick up some clouds but that will be it. the system will still be hanging out. monday and tuesday will be more of an issue. today was a beautiful day. we had wind gusting in the 30's this afternoon. that is easing off. when the highs are the same, that is usually an indication of a breezy day. 38 at the airport for the morning low. 37 downtown. several occasions got down to or below freezing this morning.

there is a freeze warning again for tomorrow morning. we still have dry. so we can expect a freeze warning from the city northward up to the pennsylvania line and to the west. 64 in annapolis and cambridge. on the boardwalk, is 59. was mr. and frederick are both at 53. in far western maryland, everybody has clear skies. -- westminster and frederick are both at 53. here are the clouds and showers to the west. this storm system is pretty far north. high pressure is with us now. the high tomorrow will be centered over us and start moving to the east allowing clouds to come in. the rain is going to swing more to the north. this will still be spinning. this will be a factor early next week. the overnight forecast calls for clear skies. the wind will back off. 35 to 40 the overnight low.

for easter sunday, we start out at 37 and rise to 62 by noon. we do pick up some clouds but we're not calling for rain. the northwest wind will be breezy at about 15 miles an hour. it will be a mild, dry day with skies becoming partly cloudy. small craft advisories are out. late monday and early tuesday, a rain shower. it does not look like a lot of rain. we will be in the 60's monday and tuesday. on wednesday, some showers, only in the 50's. we will spend the end of the weak close to 60 degrees. it will still be kind of cool. finest traded in their uniforms for basketball uniforms to take to the court for a good cause. members of the police and fire departments played for bragging rights. the foundation hosted the annual

they will try to do it tonight again. game time is at 7:05. you could not have asked for much more in yesterday's opener. he was showing what he could do with the bat. in the bottom of the first, he launches one the opposite way. a great start to the season. nick also had a triple. jake throwing seven shutout innings and allowing just two hits. it is their tent opening day when in the last 12 years. hopefully this time it will be the start of a good season. >> emotional a couple times today seeing how much it means to the people in baltimore. this is different. we grow up with the orioles. i will be the first to tell you it gives me a lot more responsibility and anxiety about

extra innings. davis comes through with a base hit. that will score a pair of runs giving toronto the lead. the ad two or in the 12th going on to win 7-4. the nationals taken on the cubs. with the bases loaded, this would give the nats a 5-4 lead. steve delivers the chopper. steve hustling down the line beats the thrill. that score another run. nats go on to win 7-4. they are 2-0 on the season. the beat goes on for the women's lacrosse team. the blue jays are coming off the task. a tough loss to vanderbilt. they had to face florida. a beautiful spring day.

if only the outcome was as good as the weather. in the first half, colleen gives the blue jays a 1-0 lead. she does it again. 3-1 blue jays. gators came roaring back to tie the game at 5. just before the half, florida and grabs the first lead. gators led by one of the break and held on to win 13-12. it is a great day for golf. the masters is taking place this
