tried to stop him from operating the vehicle and he proceeded to collide with another car. >> they believe the suspect driver blew through a red light and collided with a car that had been crashed in another car. he was arrested finally on this curve. police later caught him and found illegal drugs. inside the victim's car was 22- year-old jordasha rawlins, an infant, and her mother. she would die and her infant s uffering minor injuries. she was so good. >> attempts to reach the family were unsuccessful. there was some question as to whether police broke the a no- chase policy which may have caused the accident. police officials insist there was no chase in the situation

and the suspect fled when they try to pull him over. >> i personally listened to the broadcast. "this is not a police chase." you can hear the police officer indicate he was pulling the car over and seconds later he was asking for an ambulance unit because the car collided. at this point, they have not released the suspect's name because he has not been formally charged. we understand that will probably hand -- happen later this evening or tomorrow morning. the person will be charged with a number of traffic violations. also a number of drug violations. lowell melser, wbal-tv 11 news. >> the person of interest in a hit and run involving an anne arundel county police officer is now officially charged. he is charged with numerous trichet -- traffic-related offenses saying carroll was

involved in a chain reaction of crashes. he is now being treated for serious injuries at shock trauma. aerifying crime, the murder of a 12-year-old sitting on his porch watching television. three murder suspects are in custody following a year-long investigation. these three men are charged in the fatal shooting of 12-year- old shawn johnson. they have more on their arrests tonight. >> technology helped police but so did multiple police in the area of a cliff the avenue where the quadruple shooting happened. >> get them off the streets before they kill someone else. >> after one dozen streets rang out, family, neighbors, and friends of sean johnson urged investigators to find his killers. now the police announced the

arrest of these suspects -- danyae robinson, derrick brown, and antwan mosley. >> he was sitting on the porch of his home and was shot multiple times. >> johnson died after being shot four times. the other victims are still recovering from their injuries. during the vigil came the call to, once again, and the violence. >> somebody knows what happened. justice will be served. this should not have happened to sean or nobody's child. >> this has to stop. it has to. three other children have been shot. this just needs to stop. >> police interviewed multiple witnesses to positively identified mosley, robinson, and

brown in the shooting and phone records were also used to charge them. robinson pled guilty to second- degree murder and gun charges in 2001 and drug charges in 2000 9. mosley was found guilty of drug possession in 2001 and is given for trial on the possession and distribution charges may 23rd. they have not given a reason or possible motive for the gunfire that killed sean johnson and wounded three others. barry simms, wbal-tv 11 news. >> they were investigating two homicide that happened within one hour of each other in liberty heights. a 34-year-old man was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds around 9:40. it is taken into a hospital and

pronounced dead. 30 minutes before that, police tell us they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds that was taken to hopkins and pronounced dead a short time later. police have not yet released details on motive or a suspect. >> firefighters are on the scene of a fire along the 200 block of fox matter later. date is countered heavy rain -- heavy flames that quickly spread to the adjoining town homes. no word yet on what may have sparked the flames. 11 people are looking for another place to sleep tonight after another three-alarm fire in glen burnie. this is the view just before 3:30 a.m. initial reports indicate the flames started in ground level apartment and spread quickly to adjacent departments. fire officials say while the cause remained under investigation that they want

even though there is a slight chance passing by tomorrow, and even better chance for heavier rain coming our way over the weekend. will that be in time to alleviate some of the dry conditions? sheldon dutes is live at in anne arundel county with how to cut down on the risk of forest and brush fires that pop up in the dry weather. sheldon. county, in anne arundel and the conditions out here have been pretty dry. we are set up in miller's bill and you can see where the vegetation is just brown, crackling, and dry. officials have issued an open burn than for the foreseeable future. clucks brush fires are normally not caused naturally year in many cases it. it is human error or humid fact that causes the brush fires. >> there's still trying to determine what sparked the outdoor fire near the holiday point marina but it appears that dry weather is part of the blame. they have burned acres upon

cancer patients per day. it is ever a serious injury, you may be better getting to a hospital by helicopter instead of an ambulance. researchers at university of maryland school of medicine compare the effectiveness of a helicopter to grant emergency services. if they were given a helicopter ride to a top-level trauma center were more likely to survive and this included more than two under 23,000 trauma patients and those were blown to the hospital had a 16% higher survival rate. the number of a acl injuries has grown over 400% in just the last 10 years. the problem is that today's youth athletes are overdoing it especially if they are playing one sport year round. that causes repetitive trauma to the muscles being used over and over again. is deal industries are even more serious for younger patients because of the issues with the growth plate. they suggest children and

teenagers to give the muscles a break. the non-profit kids helping hopkins is helping -- having the kids helping hopkins. for this family, this is understandably close to their hearts. kim deasy has the story. what she is a healthy, active mama three kids. when she was two, they told her she had a hole in her heart. four years later, she had open heart surgery to fix it. "i remember them taking me to the operating room. i was on a gurney and i remember putting my current before i went in. >> she credits hopkins children's hospital with saving her life. they were impressed with the care and treatment she got. what they told us what to expect so it would not be such a shock.

shooting that killed a 12-year- old boy. derrick brown, antwan mosley, and danyae robinson are all chareged. several witnesses as well as phone records helped the police identified the men. fire officials of the early morning battling a three-alarm apartment fire in glen burnie. we are told that broke out along the 100 block of state would avenue. initial reports indicate the fire started in a ground level apartment and spread quickly to adjacent apartment. the cause remained under investigation but they are asking people to keep an eye out for brush fires which have been popping up due to the dry weather conditions. >> when you make decisions on line, watch what you put on facebook. >> questionable post's on-line and what got him in trouble is just ahead when we cover the nation.
