these are pictures from a recent four-alarm fire in edgewater. anne arundel county fire investigators are trying to figure out what sparked the fire but said dry weather conditions could have played a role. acres upon acres of land have burned in recent brushfires like this fire in carper county. this fire chief says current conditions are creating "the perfect recipe" 4 brush fires. >> there is a lot of dead vegetation left over from the springtime and just all the components have come together and they are really right for brush fires. >> according to 11 news meteorologist 8 memory, rain levels are 5 inches below normal. >> we would need a big, soaking storm to catch up. we have rent chances, but nothing to really make this a drought-ending rain.

the buyer reportedly started in a ground level apartment and spread quickly. no word yet on a cause. three suspects are charged in the murderer of a 12-year-old. sean johnson was shot four times. police have charged derrick brown, antwan mosley, and danyae robinson. >> sean johnson was sitting on the porch of this home and was shot multiple times. >> three others were wounded. according to a court-charging document, the have positively identified mosley, robinson, and brown as those responsible. >> tragedy in west baltimore. a woman is killed after she was struck by a speeding vehicle

police were trying to pull over. lowell melser is live outside of city headquarters with the latest. >> the question is whether or not police were chasing the vehicle as they have a no-chase policy within city limits. they say that they were not chasing this person. police say it was just after 11:00 monday night when a patrol officer noticed a car operating in an unsafe manner and they began calling the driver tried to pull him over near the 1800 block of poplar grove. >> the officers tried to stop him from operating the car and the proceeded to escalate and collide with a another car. >> for some reason, the suspect drove through a red light and collided with a car that then crashed into another car and

but heavy rain and a hot summer did damage to the chesapeake bay's health. the bay was given a d + in its latest report card. this is the second lowest since it began in 1986. the worst year for the bay was back in 2003. heavy rains washed pollution and sentiment in the bay and it spurred algae blooms that lowered oxygen levels which are especially damaging to oysters which cannot move to better areas. >> unusual sequence of events starting with a very wet spring followed by a hot, dry summer. then at breaking into two did -- big storms. >> ago 42 out of 100 possible

showers and thunderstorms in far southern virginia. a few hopes that it will spur through the region. more substantial storms will be approaching and they could bring us a better chance for rain in the mid-atlantic. there are some heavy showers, severe storms even possible in the deep south. some of that is moving up into parts of virginia and looks like the bulk of it will move south and east of baltimore, but at least the chance for review scattered showers, maybe even as far west as hagerstown or allegany county, but the best chance will be southern maryland. a sprinkle with clouds in the morning and then a better chance for the brain to get up here at the baltimore. this should turn out to be a little bit cooler tomorrow.
