riding in her car with her mother and daughter in west baltimore. according to police, an officer had attempted to pull over a suspect minutes before the crash when the suspect ran a red light and crashed into her car. her car slammed into another car. her mother and baby survived the crash, but she was killed. her family and friends placed flowers and balloons to honor her life while mourning her death. >> you never know when that is the last time you will see your child when you walk out the door. i say to all you mothers and fathers, hug your children as often as you can. >> police say they found crack cocaine in the suspect's car. he will face charges of vehicular manslaughter and fleeing police. the suspect is under police custody in the hospital this morning. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> a suspect is out on bail this

morning. leo carroll was arrested on tuesday after allegedly starting a crash that struck corporal kevin mont. leo carroll faces numerous charges. after the murder of a boy, police have arrested three men in the case. derrick brown, danyae robinson, and antwan mosley all face a first-degree murder charge. investigators say they fired the shots that killed sean johnson and wounded three others last may. the suspects were identified through the phone records and multiple witnesses. >> last week the 2012 session ended with legislators failing to come up with a budget compromise. that triggered a so-called doomsday budget featuring cuts from public schools and services marylanders use every day.

many expect the governor to resolve the budget crisis. republicans say maryland will do just fine with the austerity measures and it will save maryland taxpayers $20,000 a day to not have legislators back to annapolis. >> people around here seem not to care about the expenditures of the citizens of maryland. >> that is not the budget that i have produced, so "happy" is not the word i would use to describe it. that is better than the huge cuts to public safety and affordable college. >> the governor says there's no sense of calling a special session unless there's an agreement. new details about the prostitution scandal involving members of the secret service. we're now learning how many women are believed to be in hotel rooms with those agents

just before president obama a ride for a summit. tara mergener has more details on the story. good morning. >> good morning. the fallout from this incident continues. the big question in washington -- was national security compromised? president obama was mum on the scandal, but the white house is defending the secret service and its director. >> the president has confidence in the director of the secret service. director sullivan acted quickly in response to this incident and is overseeing an investigation as we speak into the matter. >> investigators say the matter involves at least 20 women, some said to be prostitutes who cavorted with agents ahead of president obama's arrival last weekend. 11 agents have not been -- have

now been implicated in the matter. lawmakers want to know if the president was put at risk. >> they could compromise security or themselves or they could have been killed or drugged or had information taken from them. this violates the most basic rules of being a secret service agent. >> the experience of the agents and officers in question reportedly includes relative newcomers to 20-year veterans. some insist the women were not prostitutes. >> we will see what the investigation reveals. >> the secret service has sent more investigators to colombia to interview the woman involved. -- the women invovled. tara mergener, wbal-tv 11 news. >> ted nugent is under investigation. in interview in st. louis, he compared the president and his

entire block have to be evacuated. several others were treated for smoke inhalation. no word on what sparked the blaze. after the oil rig exploded, the window is closing for those affected by this bill to file their claims against bp. the oil rig explosion killed 11 people and created the biggest offshore oil spill in u.s. history. >> home construction is slowing down. u.s. builders began to work on fewer homes back in march. builders broke ground on 654,000 homes and that is down nearly 6% from february. building permits rose.

the highest level since back in september of 2008. google is launching a cloud- based storage system. all users will get 5 gigabytes of free storage. the pay gap between men and women continues but it is not too bad in one u.s. cities. jane king has the bloomberg business report. >> good morning. delta airlines trying to push through another fare hike come this time by $10 to $20. other carriers usually follow suit. is is the sixth this year. the three hikes have been successful. food prices are easing.

consumer prices for groceries are rising more slowly this year. an analyst says prices have peaked last september. a big rally on wall street. the imf boosting its forecast for global economic growth. the bloomberg maryland index was higher on gains from t. rowe price. good news on the hiring front. the baltimore firm plans to add up to 300 workers. women earn less money than men. this goes for women of all ages, races, and educational levels. the smallest pay gap is in washington, d.c., full-time working women earn 91% of what men earn. at the new york stock exchange, i'm jane king, bloomberg news, for wbal-tv 11 news. >> 57

kim dacey has the latest on the story. good morning. >> family and friends of jordasha rollins are in mourning today. ey say she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. jordasha rollins seemed to be happy and laughing. this went nowhere since the day she was born -- is woman. >> happy, always smiling, always willing to give. >> friends and family have placed flowers and balloons in her honor. she was killed as she rode in a car with her mother and infant daughter around 11:00 monday night. according to police, an officer had attempted to pull over a suspect just minutes before the crash when the suspect ran a red light and slammed into her car. her car slammed into another car. police insist there was no chase that led to the crash. >> i listened to the broadcast

>> welcome back to 11 news today. 6:44. police are searching for clues in a deadly overnight shooting. all this is responded to the 70 under a block of north spring street and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the head. he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. no arrests have been made. suspect accused today hit-and- run is out on bail this morning.
