here's my rubarb marmalade, my kidney bean marmalade..., oh, kidney bean again. that's funny. ♪ >> live, local, late breaking. this is wbal tv 11 news at noon. >> i am sarah caldwell. our big story. the fallout over the secret service scandal continues. three veteran agents have lost their jobs. the investigation continues into the behavior of the agents during the president's trip. marquez the latest from colombia. >> the first to fall in the prostitution scandal that began in the nighttime gloves and stripping in colombia are the three members of the u.s. secret service press who are part of

president obama's to advance security detail last week at the summit of the americas. the secret service says one supervisor will retire. another has been fired, removed for cause. a third non-supervisor has resigned. at the famous hotel where u.s. officials say agents to prostitutes to their rooms, investigators are trying to unravel different accounts of what happened there. u.s. officials tell nbc news the scandal exploded after a prostitute who claims she was shared by two agents got into a heated dispute over how much they should be paid, and now less than $60. in the "new york times," there is a much different version of the argument. an unidentified woman claims she spent the night with a man she later learned was an agent. and she agreed to an $800 escort fee. the next morning, he only offered her $30. after they argued and she complained to a police officer, the story says the agent and several others kicked in to pay her $225.

also investigating here are two u.s. military officers, looking into whether to send american service personnel were also involved in this scandal. and issue a spokesman says is being taken very seriously. mark, nbc news, colombia. >> a tip into illegal drug activity at a northwest baltimore home has led police to a suspected dogfighting ring. detectives were executing a search warrant for drugs at home on the 2900 block of silver hill avenue when they discovered eight dogs, a dogfighting manuals, and medication used to treat injured animals. the dogs are now being cared for at barcs, for care givers say they're friendly, outgoing, and in relatively good condition. >> there are two of them that have some scarring on their face, some old wounds. just a little bit of the scarring, and they are old. the rest are in good condition. overall, they're pretty healthy. >> 30-year-old johnnie taylor is charged with eight counts of

animal cruelty and drug possession to the police are not sure if the fighting was done in the house or if it was where they were being kept. the clock is ticking, literally, and tell maryland's so-called doomsday budget with program cuts and layoffs take effect. that is unless the governor calls for a special session of the legislature. to emphasize the point the state education association and the doomsday clock at its office in annapolis. officials said the budget that would take effect would have a disastrous effect on schools. >> these cuts would be deeply the terminal to our schools, our employees, and our communities. we have already seen how cuts to our schools can negatively impact our students. yet, that is exactly what this doomsday budget will do. >> the state treasurer says counties could face a downgrade in their bond ratings that lawmakers cannot fix the current budget situation. baltimore county public school students are already counting the days until the end of the year. well, now they have four fewer

days to count. the school year will end four days earlier than scheduled thanks to the mild winter. the last day of classes is now friday, june 8. the adjustment was announced at tuesday night's board of education meeting. a pair of unrelated home invasions in baltimore county has police looking for several suspects. the verse happened overnight between air and nine and 10 on village mill court. three men wearing masks and armed with guns duct tape to the victims' and ransacked the home. the second incident happened last thursday in essex. a father and of little girls were leaving a home when two men allegedly ordered them back inside, duct tape to the victims, and demanded money. police believe these incidents are unrelated. if you have any information on them, please call baltimore county police. >> today is an improvement over

>> covering the nation, the number of people seeking unemployment benefits suggest hiring is slowing. weekly applications adept last week by 2,000 to seasonally adjusted three -86,000. that was only after the department revised up the previous week's data to show 8000 more people applied for benefits than first estimated. american airlines plans to eliminate 1200 non-union jobs to help reduce costs while under bankruptcy protection. the pollard largest airline says it plans to cut the airport's baggage and carter jobs along with closing a reservations center in arizona. it is part of an effort to trim its annual labor cost by $1.25 billion.

here. we're doing pretty well. we're turning into what will be mostly sunny day. right along the beaches, we saw the picture from ocean city. still had some clouds. still looks kind of wet, although their radar shows the rain is offshore. the rain yesterday kind of took care of the pollen coutn. -- pollen count. 24 hours up until this morning, the count was way down because of yesterday's rain. pre-count, high range. press count, 29. that is a high range of grass. total count, 330. in a very high range from the previous 24 hour count. that range has settled everything done. temperatures going into the noon hour. annapolis, 62. cambridge, 61. only 52 at ocean city, right along the beach. westminster, 59.

63, frederick. in the 50's in the mountains out west. here is the satellite image. that storm pulling out. we look pretty good here. a few scattered clouds. a little area bringing to our northwest around cleveland. that is associated with the cold front running through the great lakes. this system to the west will be the next thing to come in. that will be over the weekend. one part it will be a cold front of us something is expected to develop along the front south and complicate the situation when it comes up the coast. it will be similar to a nor'easter. could turn into one. maybe far enough onshore that it will not affect us or prolong the storm. those are the questions we have at the end of the weekend. for today, fine. amex the clouds and son. we're skewing more towards the sun. milder temperatures than yesterday. 55 to 70. variable winds. in the bay, southeast winds at 5 knots bit less than 1 foot shop.

vaccinations to get right away for my new kitten? -- the most important vaccinations to get for my new kitten? >> this is a lifetime process did you want to prevent disease. depending on where you live. if you live and an apartment on the 15th floor, it is different than if you live out in the country. dr. your veterinarian. there are distemper shots. rabies, the law. feline leukemia is important. deworming. lots of cats get worms. they are born with them. you have to go to the veterinarian and get them on a proper diet. >> good advice. i would like to adopt an adult dog. what kind of questions should i ask first? >> the question is, where do i adopt this dog? i think you have to decide what you're living space is and what dog is a bridge for your living space. if you're on a 15th floor permit, a great dane is probably inappropriate. for this dog specifically, you
