argument and she was never seen or heard from again. howard county police suspected foul play at the time but say they did not have evidence to prove that. the received a tip a couple of days ago that led them back to the home yesterday to search the property. police say detectives found the remains of a woman believed to be christine e. jarrett buried in concrete under a shed on the property. >> this particular information led us back to the house. living in the house now is the suspects current wife. she has been living there all this time, but now they are separated. this is the first time she was able to consent to let a certain house. we had not had a search warrant to do that before. >> according to police, items found with the body indicate that it is likely christine derrek. an autopsy will be done to determine cause of death --

likely to be christine jared. >> where will the children go? that is the question on the mind of many city volunteers if funding is cut for after-school programs. a public hearing is now under way. >> no final decisions will come out of this meeting, but it is more an opportunity for students, parents, and teachers to voice their frustration and concerns about the possibility of budget cuts affecting some of those programs. take a look at some video earlier today of all these kids that gathered here at city hall. the laughter of the plane could be heard from the front lawn of city hall and nearby buildings. -- the laughter of their playing. they came out to demand increased funding for after- school and summer programs. they would suffer because of the city's budget woes. one resolution would double money to those programs and the

some prescription drugs. he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. anyone with information should contact howard county police. >> an investigation is under way into what sparked a deadly house fire in hagerstown that killed a mother and sent her family to the hospital. firefighters arrived on scene just after noon to find heavy black smoke and flames coming from home. inside a woman was found dead. a firefighter was up treated for smoke inhalation but he is expected to be ok. a bizarre story tonight from anne arundel county, where police are investigating the death of a man who lost consciousness while under restraint in the back of a police car. police say the 41-year-old man was taken into custody last friday after behaving erratically in an suv that was stopped on the side of the road. he eventually try to kick out

expired or unused prescription drugs. maryland natural resources say that lushing old medicines down the toilet can hurt water quality and underwater life, and keeping them at home can lead to accidents or abuse. four sites statewide will be collecting expired or unused medications on april 28. if you have been noticing where people sniffling and sneezing lately, there is a good reason. new data from researchers confirms the u.s. is in the middle of a stronger than usual spring allergy season. the culprit is the unusually warm winter. more people are being reported sick with allergies this year than on previous years. experts blame the increases on pollen and allergens arriving ahead of schedule, and people

two major airlines have joined delta with account fair price hike. -- with a new fair price hike. if competitors do not follow suit, the initiator usually drops as prices back. executives at bwi marshall airport have unveiled a new project that will cut back on energy consumption for the next 40 years. airport officials shined a light on the latest solar energy mission this afternoon. installed on the top level of the airport's garage, it will produce more than 600,000 kilowatt hours of electricity each year, part of a broad energy efficiency program launch in 2010. other measures include comprehensive lighting improvements, water conservation measures, and moving sidewalks.
