[captioning made possible by constellation energy group] good evening. six secret service agents have lost their jobs because of the prostitution scandal in columbia. as the investigation continues, the obama administration has come under fire. sheldon has more. >> some republicans have raised questions over whether white house staff was involved, but congressman elijah cummings says the president has responded appropriately. the investigation continues. so far, six agents have lost their job, five on administrative leave, and they told name was added to the list. elijah cummings recently spoke about the investigation.

>> we are waiting for answers to the 10 questions we have asked them. >> the alleged encounter with prostitutes happened while the agents were on a security detail before president obama arrived in colombia. politicians on both sides want to throw answers, but the case has taken a political turn. chuck grassley asked if they were investigating white house staff. congressman and elijah cummings says that president obama responded appropriately. >> i think he acted decisively, he got folks out as soon as he found out about this. he stripped them of their security clearance. and he suspended them. >> the white house has dismissed any implications of its staff and the scandal. this person teaches election law at the university of maryland law school and his efforts to politicize the scandal will not stick.

>> the scandal is unique, because the president pretty much conceded the secret service, both in terms of personnel and structure and procedure, were fallible. >> the military is investigating 11 troops for heavy drinking and spending time with prostitutes. governor martin o'malley is scheduled to meet with the legislature senior leaders about holding a special session. the meeting is scheduled tuesday, with house speaker michael busch and senate president mike miller. they're trying to prepare the state budget after lawmakers failed to pass a revenue package needed to avoid a half billion dollars of cuts. baltimore county police are the scene of a pedestrian hit by a car in randallstown. it happened at about 9:30. the police say there were no serious injuries, but the scene is still being investigated. >> we are getting our first real

rainfall and weeks, welcome news for farmers. we get a first look with john collins. >> some areas got more, and there were severe storms and pennsylvania, parts of new jersey, but the stronger part of the weekend weather system is to the south. a lot of activity spinning around the northeast corner of the gulf of mexico. that storm is very similar to a nor'easter coming up the coast tomorrow, pushing a lot of rain are way. the computer rainfall estimates, by 11:00, some decent rain, the low pressure system comes up, the heaviest rain during the afternoon, evening hours. as that lives north, look out to the west. west virginia and also parts of the garrett county. there could be sizable snowfall. there could be as much as 6 inches of snow.

that is the nor'easter part. that is in the mountains, not here. a maryland man received a hero's welcome today at the annapolis harbor after completing a nonstop record- setting solo voyage around the americas. he traveled roughly the distance around the earth's equator and seemed hardly the worse for wear. by the time he arrived at the annapolis harbor, at rutherford's boat was without an engine, bilge pump, and gps. that is what happens after 25,000 miles circumnavigating the americas, a remarkable solo journey. >> i am happy to be out here to welcome him home. port or drop anchor from his 27-foot second-hand sailboat. >> the hardest part was the northwest passage. the ice was incredibly dangerous. there were times i was very close to icebergs. i have no radar on the boat, and the storms, mixed together, i nearly was killed by a giant icebergs at one point. then he left annapolis last june and reversed some of the most dangerous seas as he sailed around the americas, nearly run down by a freighter, tossed around in cape horn. >> i worried a lot, but he has it in his genes. his uncle went to brazil with just $300. >> there was enormous fanfare and a welcome home ceremony for a man who did it all to raise a quarter million dollars for a nonprofit sailing program for the disabled.

and spent seven months in prison for his role in the watergate scandal. he became an evangelical christian and founded a prison ministry. rock musician and ted nugent has been cut from a u.s. army summer concert program in fort knox, kentucky, after comments he recently made at an nra meeting that he would be dead or in jail if president obama was reelected. the secret service met with ted nugent with no action taken. george zimmerman, accused of killing trayvon martin, may not be getting out of jealousy and is he thought. friday, a judge agreed to let him out on bail. his attorney says he hopes he will be released sometime during the middle of the week. his family is having a difficult time coming up with the bail money. >> $150,000 is a lot of collateral.

if you are having a bad day, this story may turn it around. the maryland zoo welcomed a newborn monkey to the chimpanzee forest. the newborn monkeys is cradled by one of its parents. the baby is the first for the couple. there is no word on the name or the gender yet, but we do know that it is very cute. how do you follow an act like that? talk about rain, i guess, we got some this evening. the cold front is to the east, over the ocean.

still good rain in new jersey, shower activity in ocean city. nothing here, little showers in southern maryland, dry to the west. that is part one of the storm. the numbers today, pretty good. the rain did not come through until late. the sun did not disappear until late. 81 degrees the high at the airport, the inner harbor 82. turned out to be a beautiful day, the rain waiting until about 6:00. the normal high 67, and the rainfall, at the airport, and downtown, less than the 0.1 inches of rain. hear on tv hill, we had 0.32 inches of rain. severe weather to the east, parts of new jersey and around philadelphia, eastern pennsylvania as well. the current temperatures, showing the effect of the cool front. the warmest greetings near the

front, the lower eastern shore, in the 60's. we are in the 50's, near 60 around baltimore. 54 westminster, frederick in the 40's. there is some cold air trying to come in behind the cold front. holding everything up as the storm to the south. the rain in virginia, the arc of rain on the front. nothing to the west. you would think we are done with this, but not quite. this storm to the south is spinning around, coming up the coast tomorrow. the trick with the storms is will they be in land, out over the water, and we still have to fine tune, but it looks like a will push a lot of moisture our way and give us a lot of rain. overnight, scattered showers, cloudy and chilly, 47-52. tomorrow, rain heavy at times, north wind at 10-20, when the costs the 30 or better.
