reaction and joins us live with more. good morning. >> this is a suspect that was close to the family. we're talking about michael johnson. family members say they had suspicions against him. he is phylicia barnes's older sister's former boyfriend. gregg bernstein gave few details about this case. the cause of death was ruled as asphyxiation. johnson was also seen carrying a large container to his car about the time that phylicia barnes was reported missing. his brother and uncle say that michael johnson was a long-time trusted friend. >> i would hope that he would do the right thing if it was him and tell the truth. tell the truth and give phylicia's family some type of closure. >> these investigations have always looked to the last person to have seen the victim.

we know that. baltimore city made that promise. they said, we believe you're the person and we're going to get you. >> johnson's attorney sent a letter expressing the family's desire for him to receive a fair opinion. reporting live downtown, jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> the lead investigator serving a suspension. detective daniel nicholson was under investigation after allegedly misusing city resources in an attempt to find his own missing daughter. state's attorney's office is involved in the investigation and denies any question about nicholson hurting the phylicia barnes case.

>> it is a separate matter. if i thought that any of the allegations involving him impact on this case, we would not have done that. >> there was nothing unusual about the timing of the indictment in the murder case and the nicholson suspension. the victim of an accident stabbing in the downtown area has died. officers and paramedics were called to north eutaw street just after 5:00 yesterday. police say they discovered a man suffering from at least one serious stab wound and that man was pronounced dead at an area hospital. >> a school teacher charged with having sex with three students will learn his fate today. sentencing is scheduled this afternoon for jeffrey sears.

the incidents happened in 2009 and 2011. he taught english and was the boys' basketball coach since 2006. testimony continues in the trial of eli and avi werdesheim. they're accused of beating an african-american teenager while on a neighborhood watch. victim asked the court to drop the charges against the brothers. if he wants to testify, he can. the investigation continues into the secret service. a similar incident has happened before. there were similar behavior during a presidential trip to el salvador. tracie potts has details on the new allegations. >> a seattle tv station reports that while protecting president obama in el salvador, agents spent three nights at a strip club and bragged they did this all the time.

>> the state department is reviewing to see if any of their employees were involved. they're seeing if visiting the club violates the rules. >> there is a difference in going to a club and engaging in disgraceful behavior. we expect our employees to exercise good judgment. >> janet napolitano told lawmakers that hiring prostitutes in colombia was an isolated incident. >> there was nothing in the record to suggest this behavior would happen. >> the new allegations named other agencies, including the drug enforcement administration. they will follow up if the information seems credible. on capitol hill, lawmakers have a different solution. >> hire more females. >> what happened in cartagena was disgusting. i think that the secret service has a responsibility to investigate what happened. >> that investigation is still

a marine will be sentenced this morning. police arrested him near the pentagon last june after they spotted him with a back pack containing potentially explosive materials and notes referring to osama bin laden. today is the one-year anniversary since the violent tornadic outbreak. at least 350 confirmed tornadoes across the south and midwest. one of the hardest hit albums was in alabama where 53 people were killed in the storm -- one of the hardest-hit areas. >> walmart is offering customers a chance to shop online and pay with cash. you select your items at walmart.com and select the cash option at checkout.

in just a few minutes. you know what i meant. >> new allegations have surfaced by misconduct of secret service agent. >> they are accused of hiring strippers in advance of another trip by president obama. we have developments by tara mergener. >> good morning. there are new reports of past misconduct by u.s. secret service agents, this time in el salvador before president obama's trip there last year. about a dozen secret service agents partied with strippers in a club and paid for sexual favors. those are among the allegations in a report by a seattle station which cites its sources as an unnamed government contractor who worked with president obama's advance team
