[captioning made possible by constellation energy group] captioned by the national captioning institute --www.ncicap.org-- >> a local elementary school shutdown after someone found the body of a man nearby. it happened in northwest baltimore near altera road. police say someone found the body of a man who appears to be between 18-21 years old. we're told someone did hear a gunshot in the area last night but when police got to the scene they did not find anything. the man was taken to the medical examiner to figure out exactly what happened. new details in the double shooting at a howard county church.

officers responded to in 911, and found two women shot inside the church office. now police say 59-year-old brenda brewington died at the scene and the 62-year-old rev. was flown to shock trauma and is recovering. a gun was found in a wooded area not far from the church. >> we're looking into the very real possibility that this is a self-inflicted gunshot wound and that this man in the woods may have been involved in some way. >> police have not been involved -- police have not released the identity of the man yet. this morning, two people are in the hospital, one in life threatening condition after a crash in baltimore county. emergency crews shut down several roads in the area. no word on a cause.

an update on the state of the u.s. economy. things seem to be looking up. more jobs added last month and the unemployment rate continues to fall. >> the new jobs report is out with fewer jobs added than expected. 115,000 jobs were added in april and unemployment did dip from 8.2%-8.1%, but 350,000 people dropped out of the labor force. all of this is expected to be political fodder this election year. for all the smiles and salutations of election-year politics -- >> thank you. what a welcome. >> i am honored to welcome you to cinco de mayo at the white house. >> both president obama and mitt romney are carefully crafting their messages on the economy.

slowly. we could be eclipsed by something in the early afternoon hours and maybe later on this afternoon as a cold front approaches. we will talk about the potential for storms and some better weekend weather coming up. >> another big story this afternoon, the police commissioner, fred bealefeld has announced that he is stepping down. after 31-years with the department, he says it is time to move on. he talked about the decision this morning on 98 barack. >> i want to go out on top, no mean -- knowing that we did great things. and i want to have some gas left for the next phase of my life. i'm going to be 50 in august. >> he said no one asked him to resign but officials in city hall asked him to reconsider. many said the announcement came as a surprise. baltimore county police are investigating a suspicious death in west baltimore. police responded around 7:30 p.m. thursday and found a body

at the scene. no word on the victim's identity. an autopsy will determine the cause of death. two brothers were accused of assaulting an african american teenager. avi werdesheim was cleared of all charges, but his brother ely could be sentenced to 10 years in prison. >> we're happy that his brother was acquitted. we are happy that eli was acquitted of one of the counts. we will look forward to continuing his advocacy. >> we have to believe in the system and it showed itself were the incredible today. >> the victims' attorney announced that a drop the $6 million civil suit against the werdesheims.

some moon gazing. tomorrow night will not only be a full moon, it will be what is called a super moon. it looks bigger because it is closer to the earth. it will be 14% larger, 13% brighter. moonrise will be at about 7:55 in the evening, just as the sun is setting. it will be closest at 11:34 in the evening, 22,000 miles away, 10,000 miles closer than normal. it is the closest it will come to earth this year. an historic thing. get out and enjoy the view.

right after sunset is when it will look its biggest. we have some storm activity coming in, small stuff. there has been a little shower activity just past frederick and moving toward southern carroll county. we will see more of this activity during the day today as well. we have had some dry weather. the pollen count has not been all that high. it is at 26, which is in the moderate range. this is all favorable. we still have some cool air. there is a warm front right along the bay between the bay and the potomac river. temperatures are stuck in the 60's. yellow indicates temperatures moving into the 70's. we have some spots in orange,

which is getting up toward 80. in frederick, they are around 81 degrees right now. here is what is going on. here is the little line of shower and thunderstorm activity moving in, not a lot of stuff. then the sun breaks out to the west and will he the atmosphere. here is the warm front. we have been stuck in this position for a couple of days. here is a cold front will be coming through later today. there are some storm clusters out here that will produce little boundaries during the day today. we will have to be watched all this afternoon and this evening to see if any severe weather crops up in the ohio river valley or in our area as well. in the mid atlantic region, reaching back into the ohio valley and the midwest as well, there is some thunderstorm activity.
