a spy infiltrates a terrorist cell and gets his hands on a bomb and delivers it to u.s. intelligence. report, theair person al qaeda thought was a suicide bomber was a double agent working with authorities and cooperating with the united states. >> our adversaries are very creative and determined and persistent. that requires us to always be thinking proactively and not just reactively. >> al qaeda's yemen branch was planning to blow up a u.s. plane. thanre using a new device the one involved in a similar plot to bring out a detroit- bound jetliner in 2009. >> it was more advanced than the christmas day bomber, the underwear bomber's bomb. -- gear. >> this new design is said to be made with a different chemical formula with duel detonation systems that make it easy to set off.

the foiled plot is a major coup. there are concerns that too much information has become public. >> this has not in any way become declassified by the cia and the administration. it is unfortunate this has gotten out. this could interfere with operations overseas. >> security at u.s. airports remains unchanged this morning. the tsa is working with international carriers. on preventing attacks within its explosives. >> is there a common thread? >> there may be. experts believe the recent bombs are the work of one person. they think he is responsible for the 2009 on there were bomb and at times a year later to bomb two cargo planes.

road map for next week's special session. lawmakers fail to pass a spending plan before time ran out of the session. the new budget is expected to have tax increases and some spending cuts. increase is to the gas tax are not expected to be on the table. the presidential campaign will make a swing through the baltimore area next month. president obama will host a fund-raising lunch at a private home on june 12 and a public campaign yvette could possibly be scheduled later that day. >> some of northeast baltimore neighborhoods are on alert after a series of burglaries. jennifer franciotti is live with more on that story. >> all of these break-ins happened during the day. eight in the last few weeks in northeast baltimore. it starts with a knock at the front door.

the suspects go to the rear of the house and try to get in through a door or window. they have been forcing their way in. police are not sure how many people they are looking for. the same people may be responsible for all of the break-ins. >> there is a possibility. we're trying to link everything. we want to get the word out, so always lock your doors and your windows. >> police say qvc strangers in your neighborhood, please give police a call. they say no one has been home at the time of the break-ins and that nobody has been hurt. unfriend, wbal-tv 11 news. -- jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> an employee noticed damage at a ymca. morning classes and activities

were canceled. an atm was damaged. a girl recovering after losing both of her feet in a lawn mower accident. a man was backing up his riding mower in forest hill when it accident ran over his daughter. he said he did not see her. both feet had to be amputated. >> two people were killed in an accident. donald jones and ronald buchholz were killed near fallston on tuesday morning. >> you got a lot of traffic out there. there is way too much traffic on busy times of the day. this is a bumper to bumper almost. >> two other people were injured at the crash.

at the inner harbor. most of the rain is off to the eastern shore counties. easton, you guys will see some rain to start today. elsewhere, things are basically dry. nothing going around in the city at the present time. let's take a wider view. we can see shower activity in ohio. this is still a good distance away. we will keep a chance for a shower for most of the day. there are some breaks and you might get a peek of the sun. there will be a lot of dry hours to do stuff outside. temperatures will drop down into the 30's and some of that cooler air will slide over towards us. it is rather mild. 64 at the airport. 63 in jarrettsville. mostly cloudy skies.

morning with some more details. good morning. >> good morning. these break-ins are happening in broad daylight at. police say this is happening during the day and they believe these break-ins could all be connected. all the burglaries have been in the northeast baltimore area. at least eight in the last few weeks and it all starts with a knock at the door. >> they receive no answer and attempt to gain entry by the rear of the house. either through a back door or a window or forcing that open. >> police have responded to burglaries in five areas. this area has been hit three times. homes have been burglarized twice. police are not sure how many people they are looking for. the same people may be responsible for all of the break-ins. >> there is a possibility.

>> welcome back to 11 news today. 6:44. three men are recovered as police search for a suspect in a triple shooting in harford county. this happened 8:00 p.m. last night on edgewater drive. two of the male victims were found. police learned and found a third victim. all three men are in stable condition. the governor and mike miller will hold a press conference later today. they are expected to lay out a road map for next week's special session. lawmakers fail to pass a spending plan before time ran out of the session. it is expected to feature tax
