if the first, a stabbing in northwest. investigators say officers responded to a call and the 2600 block of park heights. when they arrived, they found a 34-year-old man who was rushed to sinai where he died. a 55-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds in northeast baltimore. that happened at 3:00 p.m. in the 1600 block of chilton street. the victim was taken to the hospital. he is listed in stable condition. less than two hours later, officers responded to a shooting on loudon avenue. there they found a 30-year-old man had been shot multiple times. he was rushed to shock trauma where he died. there is no word on motives in any of the shootings and police have made no arrests. if and when it information is urged to call city police. now to the special session lawmakers will return to annapolis tomorrow to begin to work on fixing the state budget.

for more on what they hope to accomplish, our reporter is alive with a preview. >> the income tax increase and the pension is -- teacher pensions is just a couple of thick items on the agenda. nancy jacobs is heading to annapolis with a heavy heart. >> the majority of republicans feel like this is a waste of taxpayer dollars. most of us are going down there and if we stay, we will stay in our office. >> a constituent of anybody in the state, you should be critical of legislators because we could not get this done the way we are supposed to. >> state lawmakers are pointing fingres, but because they could not decide on a spending plan during the regular session, they have to meet for a special session. this week they are expected to vote on a budget plan that was put together by the governor. the senate president and house speaker. their plan includes shifting the cost of teacher pensions to local jurisdictions.

raises income taxes on individuals making more than $100,000 and joint filers making more than $150,000. the plan is expected to generate revenue for the state. >> the governor should have the votes on this and they should be able to pass something unless a monkey wrench gets thrown into the mix. then everything could grind to a halt. >> there are 47 senators, 12 are republicans. nobody asked us how we are going to vote because they did not need to. they have got it. it is a done deal. i feel so badly for the people of maryland to are going to go through another tax hike. >> the special session starts tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. stay tuned for wbal on air and online for the latest developments. >> thank you. later this week, the archdiocese of baltimore will install its

over the weekend, the 90-year- old actress endorsed president obama saying she very, very much favors the president. she says she is bipartisan and has stayed away from politics all our life because she does not want to turn off her fans. her comments come after hollywood it turned out and george clooney's home to raise $15 million for the president's reelection. three high-ranking officers of j.p. morgan chase will step down after the bank reported a surprise to billion dollar loss last week. that is according to "the wall street journal". the news comes as the company's ceo offered an explanation on this morning's "meet the press". >> from the ceo of j.p. morgan chase, an unambiguous explanation on a stunning $2 billion loss. >> we made a terrible, a grievous mistake. there is no excuse. >> jimmy diamond shrugged off mounting concerns last month

that something was terribly wrong with the $100 billion head of investment is being described as a bad bet. >> we know we were sloppy, it was bad judgment her >> is a nightmare is reminder of the wall street meltdown that up ended the economy for years ago. main street americans paid a steep price for those bailouts. the economy is still crawling towards recovery. this time around, j.p. morgan's reputation and its stock price are taking a hit but the company expects to turn a profit. for democrats, this is a warning sign. >> we are not trying to stop banks from losing money. we are trying to stop them from losing money in ways that will cause the damage to the rest of the system. rex barney frank was co-author of the law designed to rein in wall street. republicans say it is a stifling investment. >> you have so much government regulation coming that you cannot see the forest for the trees. >> a fight over regulation that has a new focus.

j.p. morgan chase. >> and economists predict that a loss and lingering worries about the recovery are threatened to make this another bumpy week on wall street. for financial trading all around the world, as well. the ceo of y'all who has resigned. scot thompson stepped down today and yahoo's board of direct ors accepted his resignation. he came under fire after listing a computer science degree on his resume that he did not receive. thompson took over the company in january. the fbi on a manhunt but not for our criminal. the agency says a special agent -- disappeared friday morning in burbank, california. they believe he may have gone into the mountains nearby without a wallet or cell phone but he may have his service weapon. although they do not expect foul play, police are searching for him because the belief he is upset.

officials say he could be a danger to himself. end of the year celebrations at boston university have turned somber after three students were killed saturday while studying abroad. university officials say 26 students were wrapping up their semester in new zealand as a group and 3 vans headed on a hiking trip. that is when one of the bands. off the road and crashed, killing three students and injuring five others. >> they. to have over corrected. and the vehicles got into a roll and cartwheeled down the road. >> it appears some students were thrown from the vehicle and may not have been wearing seat belts. last night, students and officials held a vigil. still ahead, how area mothers celebrated the day. a washington, d.c. college student received more than her diploma for graduation. her surprise after the break.

the families urge them to wait until they have their diplomas to get in days. so they waited about a minute until the diploma was in her hand. a mississippi woman is living proof that you are never too old to learn. 70-year-old carol received her bachelor's degree from university of southern mississippi on saturday. she earned her degree 50 years after graduating high school, she admits the cluster was very different than she remembered. despite the adjustments, she graduated with a 3.95 gsa pa. tv networks will unveil their schedules this week. nbc will introduce its lineup tomorrow. we have a preview. >> are you serious? >> former friends star matthew perry is returning to nbc. his new comedy about a wisecracking sports caster coping with loss is one of six new series. >> you frighten me.

you can see a big area of rain down in southwest virginia and out over west virginia. some scattered showers, no thunder and lightning with this sio far but by the time this thing is over, two days of rain, we will probably get a few thunderstorms. at the moment, we are waiting for the atmosphere to get wet enough to allow rain to fall, and that will happen later on tonight when we get past midnight. by morning, we will probably have some wet pavement. by the time it is over, it looks like it will have quite a bit of rain. today,a nice one. granted we got some clouds, but there were enough sun breaks to make for some pleasant weather. it helped keep the temperatures up -- 82 for the high at the airport. morning lows were in the 50's and 60's. the current temperatures -- there are still a few 70's out there, indicated by the yellow

on our map. most of the ratings have dropped into the upper 60's. western maryland. they have had a few showers so far. here is what things look like. all of the cloud cover is extending into southern new york along long island and manhattan. north of there, the clouds are scattered, but even new england and new york are going to pick this storm up eventually. a lot of moisture. there are two elements to the storm. there is a front that is stalled near the great lakes. that has to come through. also, this low pressure system will be headed towards us, pushing all that much of our way. it would be warmer thatn w we expect with this storm, expect we will not see much sun. we will only be 80 only if we get an odd sun break here or there. once this thing comes to the area, if there is no weather to

the west. we will get a few days in the coming weekend that are good. cloudy skies and a chance of showers tonight. the rain chances increase overnight. southwest winds that 2-7. the be in the low 70's for highest marker cloudy skies, rain, heavy at times. it will not be raining all the time. the heaviest rain will probably be to run lead. south wins at 5-10 miles per hour. south wind 5-10 knots. insta-weather futurecast shows the more significant rain coming monday night and into tuesday as well. by tuesday night and into wednesday, everything dries out. but by wednesday afternoon and evening, we see what looks like a front. once it gets dark wednesday, we might see some rain in the area. how much rain? tomorrow may be about 1/2 inch, but we add more to it by tuesday and we may go over an inch,
