the proposal shifts the cost of teacher pensions and raises sales tax on little cigars. republicans voiced opposition on the special session. it reportedly cost taxpayers $25,000 a day. the budget includes more taxes. demonstrators descended on annapolis yesterday. supporters protested the plan to raise taxes. others say the doomsday budget would be devastating to stay services and education. >> it is belt-tightening. it will mean larger classrooms for which teachers cannot afford that. if you're a teacher, it means an increase in class sizes. >> the budget was passed. don't have a special session. do not raise the taxes. it is a balanced budget. as i understand it. it was passed. live with it. >> the senate will come back this morning for a final vote and then the house will take up

the measure. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. a man is recovering after being stabbed at and east baltimore barbershop by a pair of scissors. it happened monday morning. the victim said he was stabbed multiple times in the chest. he is in stable condition. police have arrested a suspect. a convicted murderer will testify against her own cousin later today in eight murder for hire trial against a dentist. the woman pleaded guilty to murdering her boss. prosecutors say she enlisted her husband and two other men to kill the doctor to cover up her embezzlement from the boss. the search continues for an

in baltimore city. all the major roadways you will run into some rain. 97, 6-5, 83 -- everybody will be on the rain this morning -- 695 . a strong piece of energy is coming up from virginia. you can almost see the rotation in the precipitation. as soon as it passes, and things will settle down. not for another 90 minutes or two hours. behind that, things will settle down and it would just be cloudy into the late morning and afternoon hours. there will be some heavy rain in some neighborhoods to start the day. the clouds will stick around as

well. it will be difficult for the temperatures to move. 66 at the airport. humidity is 94%. it is kind of muggy. 64 in a jarrettsville. 65 degrees in columbia. off and on rain showers and maybe a few thunderstorms. rain could be heavy this morning. high temperature around 75. a small craft advisory in effect if you take the boat out. watch out for a lightning at the beginning of the morning. showers tonight. storms are possible. temperatures drop back into the 60's. into the weekend, i think things will get better. thursday and friday look like the best chance for rain going -- the best days without rain.

police in mississippi are searching for a police impersonator who has been pulling over drivers and shooting them. investigators believe the two deaths are connected. a bizarre murder in chicago. a woman found dead in her bathtub and their wedding dress. she got married in a quiet ceremony on friday. she was found on sunday with multiple stab wounds. florida is marching band will remain on the sidelines for another year after a deadly hazing incident. the band has been off the field since the death nature of robert champion. 13 face charges in connection with his death.
