>> live, local, late breaking -- this is wbal tv 11 news at noon. >> good afternoon. i am sarah caldwell. today is the installation of archbishop designate of baltimore william lori. bary simms is live in north baltimore with a preview of today's ceremony. >> william lori will become the 16th archbishop of baltimore. that will happen this afternoon. about 2,000 people are expected to be here in north baltimore at

the cathedral to participate in that installation ceremony. the archbishop doesn't that served as bishop of bridgeport, connecticut before pope benedict xvi chosen to receive the catholic church in baltimore. lori has said he is grateful and humbled that he gets to lead this historic church. he became a priest in 1977, ordained in washington. to witness this debate, his parents and about 50 family members are here. the procession begins at about 1:30 p.m. and will include hundreds of priests, bishops, and archbishop speed up the ceremony will begin around 2 p and children from area catholic schools will be participating as well as choir members from various cultures within the archdiocese. we spoke to is the one who has known lori since it was an auxiliary bishops in washington, and we also talked to some 13- year-old or participating. >> this is such an honor that my school picked made to represent

>> both men face a long list of criminal charges. a baltimore county man was in the next 25 years behind bars for shooting a baltimore city police officer. 21-rolled jay jordan admitted to shooting the officer in july 2007. the officer responded to a call and the thought was baltimore area. jordan had a strong animosity for police and fired a shot from an assault rifle at the answer is that the officer, wounding him in the leg. the officer has since returned to duty. a former frederick county public school teacher is charged with molesting a student. the 50-year-old is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student from may to september 2011. he is a 27-year-old veteran of the school system and was put on administrative leave when officials learned of the relationship. he will appear in court on june 19. meanwhile, baltimore county police offered charged with sexually assaulting a fellow

officer. 42-year-old heir orleans is accused of giving another officer a foot massage that turned sexual -- harold williams is accused of a female officer was working out with williams on a personal time when he engaged her with a foot massage. she said williams exposed her it -- himself and moved her feet to his groin. >> this is something we take extremely seriously. the department is not tolerate misconduct of a criminal nature from its officers, and as soon as the incident came to light, this officer was removed from his position as a fitness trainer at our training academy. >> williams is charged with fourth degree sex offense and second-degree assault. he is on administrative duty. coming up, a gruesome discovery in a florida town. details on the murder-suicides that left a mother, four children, and the shooter dead. in other win for mitt romney.

temperatures in the mid 80's later today with the southwest wind around 5 miles per hour. tonight, a clearing skies. cooler and less humid. dropping into the 50's overnight. winds changing out of the north, 5 to 10 miles per hour. futurecast shows even if we get a couple thunderstorms this afternoon, they will be very isolated. this is at about 3:00 p.m. the couple green dot some indication that if we see a thunderstorm or shower, it will just be a penpoint. then we had the front in the western part of the state in the evening, bringing a couple isolated showers. it falls apart before moving to baltimore tonight. then the skies clear out into thursday morning. watching the forecast this week and because of preakness. we have to watch the storm system that could develop of the carolina coast. for now, that is expected to stay to our south, but we will watch that. for now, dry on saturday. 74, partly sunny.

sunday has a better chance for showers. we could see more shares monday and tuesday as well. ♪ alert, did's medical you know a routine colonoscopy could be used to predict a person's risk of parkinson's disease? researchers analyzed samples of tissue taken from patients several years before they showed any symptoms of the marrow degenerative disorder. the samples all contain a protein present in the brain cells of patients with parkinson's disease. this was not detected in healthy patients. experts say a colonoscopy or it the less invasive thing can slow the progression of parkinson's. the fda has extended its june deadline for sunscreen manufacturers to change the labeling to better protect consumers from sunburn. last summer, the agency ordered the label's only read broad spectrum spf if they protect against both ultraviolet a and b rays.

city public high school. another plot line, the main character, a female teacher, struggles to start a family, and becomes invested in her students troubled lives. it struck a nerve with this teacher who loved the book signing with two copies. >> it deals with a lot of things that are happening now in the real world, happening on the news, and what is going on currently in the education system. >> her book came out in hard copy around christmas. her friends could not wait, so she down loaded it. guess what. >> i actually down loaded "50 shades of grey" first. i started reading it and i thought, no, this is not the suzanne i know and love. >> that is because it is something of an erotic page turner, recounting the race a romance between a rich playboy and a college co-ed. the book is so popular that the author major way from the u.k. to south florida to sign copies. is suzanne one of the fans?
