they say rape the woman and a busy section of the annapolis over the weekend. >> he waited until she was alone before dragging her into an alley and brutally assaulting a young woman. we have the frightening details. >> she was walking by herself at leaving dinner with friends, investigators don't have much to go on. they are looking for possible witnesses. >> of the victim was walking home in downtown annapolis when police say that she noticed a man following her. she crossed the street. >> he crossed after her and the next thing she knew, he had grabbed her and dragged her into an alley way. >> if it's between two homes and he told the police the man threw her to the ground, beat her up, and sexually assaulted her. she was able to fight him off and he was able to take off running. the attack happened at 1:30 in the morning, the victim not able

to provide much of the description. if it was dark and the man grabbed her from behind. >> it is a very busy area that time of night, people are leaving restaurants and bars. cabdrivers are coming through all the time to pick up affairs. we're hoping someone has seen someone running from the area. >> they are checking with businesses in the area to see of the man caught following her on surveillance tapes. >> in baltimore county police are investigating an act of vandalism had the church. when members say that they found damage to a church side and several broken windows last night. they argued this isn't the first time the vandals have struck, the church has been plagued by a rash of vandalism and theft dating back to april of last year. >> we could of been using that to do outreach programs.

about 40 to 50 cars travelling inside at the time, and here is a look at the school bus. no one was on board when the flames broke out around the clock 30 this morning, the blazes ignited as the bus was being towed. three police officers were treated for smoke inhalation but no one else was injured. the evening ride home was a frustrating one for travelers on interstate 83. the southbound lanes were shut down just before the north avenue exit, a local accidents claude the expressway. drivers will have to contend with other traffic woes. emergency full lane closures will continue overnight this week, all northbound lanes will close from 10:00 p.m. until 4:00 and, and tomorrow and wednesday, all southbound lanes will close from 10:00 until 4:00.

here is on all across field. she loves the sport. last year, she took a hit to the head with a lacrosse stick. >> one girl knocked my goggles off and another slashed me across the temple. i remember falling, but i did not black out. i kept playing. i knew that what i got home something was wrong, so i did not feel right. >> she had a concussion that took her out of high school and out of the game for two and a half months. she remembers her daughter having a rough time. >> a lot of sleeping in the initially just his sort of not even being able to carry on a regular conversation. >> after research, then made a decision that once she healed, she would wear this soft helmut when she plays. when the school season started this year, she was not alone on

the field. the athletic director and the coach made a decision. the girls wanted to play, they would wear soft helmets. equipment allowed under lacrosse rules does not establish the standard for had here for women. >> we had nine total, but not all of them were from across. whether multiple concussions for many reasons. we decided to implement, this year and have them wear them to see if it was held cut down how many concussions that we would have. >> it may not be protected against the second of all. the men's game went to a hard helmet to protect against this thicket of will. i don't see how soft, it is going to make a difference. >> he is the director of the comprehensive sports concussion program. he sees athlete of professional

women's lacrosse and headgear. >> we focus on the hook keeping the integrity of the game while not sacrificing safety. >> they are happy with their decision. >> have we thought was a proactive thing to do as a parent, we felt if it would give her more self-confidence and at the little bit of protectiveness to her, we felt like it was a better thing to do. >> it helps me rebuild my confidence. >> she says that as long as she plays, she will wear the helmet. he wants to see women's lacrosse coda helmets like the men. >> i don't think the girls are going to play rougher game because they have a helmet. we're going to dramatically see a reduction in the number of injuries. >> they are in agreement that
