this incident is under investigation according to a police spokesman. >> now to that air scary incident -- scare incident at the airport. an airport baggage handler spotted what looked like smoke coming out of a piece of luggage. >> relief is in the air tonight. the smoke was actually spray from a can of hair spray that discharge. passengers say they are impressed by the way this was happened -- handled and how security handle all other incidents. an air scare led to some tense moments. >> a piece of baggage that was producing films that appeared to be smoke. >> they used a bomb disposal robot to open the luggage.

ridgewick and norfolk. the inside of the house has been gutted from this fire. there remains to be under control at this time. they have pretty much blocked off norfolk and ridgewick while they deal with this incident. >> we first broke the news yesterday at five, of vehicles were being in and out of traffic as police tried to catch it. the suspect eventually bailed out of the stolen vehicle, taking off on foot in the middle of some vacant homes. no arrests have been made. a boy was attacked by a dog while riding his bike in anne arundel county. the child and his neighbor -- his mother were visiting a

millions of new dollars for school construction. teachers and students are moving out of their 83-year-old building in a few weeks. it will make room for construction crews to renovate the school and at some much- needed extra space. the project will take 15 months to complete and that is not soon enough for the 690 students. >> we have been telling them we will be spending a year at carver and coming back to a new school. they're excited about air- conditioning. they're excited about the idea of having lockers in the hall. >> teachers have been packing boxes for months now. the school student body and staff will move into george washington carver high school until those renovations are completed. >> according to the department of labor and bureau statistics, there are more than 1 million unemployed veterans. a job fair was held for them.

these are the names brought into service this season. you can see if your name is on that list. if your name is lower, you have less of a chance. we're expecting from 9 to 15. 12 is normal. we're talking about a normal season. typically get sick storms that increase to hurricane strength. that is what we expect this year. normally, three become intense with winds of 111 miles per hour. hurricane season around the corner, beginning officially on june 1 carrying through to november. while the season is about to begin, we still are keeping an eye on showers and storms east of miami. the hurricane center is in south florida. not too far from them. perhaps beryl is trying to form.

this gets organized into a tropical system. we will keep an eye on it and see what develops. the school season is about ready to wrap up. we were talking to the sixth graders out there. a bright group of scientists in bloom down there. always smart and on top of the things as they study the weather. they keep coming along and impressing us, talking about meteorology today. 81 degrees, warmer than normal by 5 degrees. it was 87 in downtown baltimore. a hint of what is coming our way for the memorial day weekend. as the heat builds up, so do the thunderstorms. you can see the a line of them through northern caroline county. there is a cluster of storms out of northern virginia that might cross the potomac and make it

into central maryland. there is a chance for an isolated storms. some fog will form an postind light 62 to 69. there is the left over thunderstorm washing out over the mid atlantic. then it is dry weather over the great lakes. it does not look like this front is much of a threat. high pressure over the ohio valley will be strengthening and moving in our direction. more sunshine into the weekend. 82 to 87 and a minimal chance of a thunderstorm. south wins on the day 5 to 10 knots. if you are in the mountains, looking nice. partly cloudy skies and may be an isolated storm on the ridge tops today and sunday afternoon. a chance for a short storm. 85 degrees and almost to the 90-

degree mark sunday. 20% chance and that opens the door to what looks like a pretty good start to the summer season at ocean city. sunny to partly cloudy. highest in the 70's. we will have to see of that -- if that system develops. the main concern, the surface temperature is around 60. it is quite chilly on the beach near that cool water. upper 80's on saturday. we will get close to or into the low 90's. the possibility of a late afternoon thunderstorm. a summer-like pop star in the afternoon. most areas will stay dry and warm. a better chance for storm arrives on tuesday. >> the ravens will continue to

have their off-season team practices for a couple of weeks leading up to a mandatory meeting camp in june. th practiceey are in the off- season -- they are practicing in the off-season. improving the play will take some creativity and reconfiguring and getting more scoring out of the offense. in practice checklist, no pa practiced this or -- no pad practices or ota, same thing. there was a disastrous end. he overcame lots of obstacles.
